The Britishers that still revere monarchy and happily pay millions of dollars to settle for the sex escapades of their prince with a minor are trying to belittle India. Reportedly, after India abstained from voting against Russia at the UNGA, for the third time in the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, British presenter Alastair Stewart lost his marbles and attempted to mock Indians.
Alastair Stewart tweeted, “Pretty predictable but India and Pakistan should hang their heads in shame and, henceforth, receive not a penny piece in aid from the UK.”

Brutal netizens show racist Stewart his place
The tweet suggested that India was making its ends meet through the generosity of the United Kingdom. However, the netizens soon made the GB News presenter realize that it wasn’t the colonial period anymore and India, or for that matter, Indians did not care for the validation of white-skinned racist snobs.
Political commentator and scientist Anand Ranganathan took Stewart to the cleaners by tweeting, “This butler probably doesn’t know that in 1947, Britain owed India 1.4 billion pounds, that it finally returned in 2001. The only thing you muppets are good at is showering yourselves with hollow titles, like OBE, where E stands for Empire. Where’s your empire now, schmuck WDTT.”

Another netizen named Joseph T Noony showed the mirror to Stewart by stating, “India is the 2nd largest investor in the UK. Indian companies create >100,000 jobs there. They pay~ 2 billion pounds in corporate taxes. The 1.6% Indian diaspora contributes a disproportional 6%(?) to UK’s gdp. What’s your contribution to India? $45 trillion loot? Pakistan?”

The UK owes $45 billion in reparations to India
It is pertinent to note that current External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in 2019 had remarked how the Britishers had looted $45 trillion from the country during their 200 years of rule.
“India had two centuries of humiliation by the West. The West in its predatory form came into India in the mid 18th century and continued 190 years after that. A year ago, a very serious economic study which tried to estimate how much British took out of India in value terms and a very calculated maths ended up putting a number of USD 45 trillion at today’s value. So that should give you a sense of what really happened in those 200 years,” S Jaishankar had remarked.
India is the 2nd largest FDI source for the UK
Moreover, in 2021 India retained its position as the 2nd largest source of FDI for the UK. Reportedly Indian companies invested in at least 99 projects in the UK and created over 4,800 jobs.
UK’s aid to the country was described as peanuts by former President Pranab Mukherjee in 2012 and two years later the aid was shut down.
While the opposition may be divided in India on numerous topics, it is united in demanding Britain for reparations and an unconditional apology for its actions in the Indian subcontinent during the colonial rule.

Tharoor wiped the floor with Britishers
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in 2017 had delivered one of the most eloquent speeches at the Oxford Union arguing why Britishers must pay reparations to India.
Tharoor had said, “The weavers in India became beggars and India went from being a world-famous exporter of finished cloth into an importer when from having 27 per cent of the world trade to less than 2 per cent. In fact, Britain’s industrial revolution was actually premised upon the de-industrialization of India,”
Stewart and his narrow understanding of geopolitics
India is in a delicate position in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis. In geopolitics, there are grey areas and the country has to tread carefully keeping its security and future in mind. Unlike the UK, which exited the EU on flimsy grounds without much due diligence and is now mourning the decision, New Delhi has a smart head on its shoulders.
It will remain firm on its diplomatic stance, pertaining to Russia, despite some racist bigots trying to suggest otherwise. Perhaps, Britain should send their Army and air force to Ukraine to protect the country from Russia. After all, the UK has the history and experience of latching itself onto foreign lands unannounced.
