Congress and the left-liberal media have a never-ending fascination with Yasin Malik

Ever since the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ hit the theatres, it has captured the attention of the masses who had been blissfully unaware of the ghastly exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley, up until now. Various doctored versions of the genocide by left-liberal and Marxist journalists were presented and circulated to dilute the gruesome reality but none was as criminal as playing down the role of a terrorist named Yasin Malik.

Under the aegis of Congress, Malik was termed a ‘separatist’ leader. For years, Malik postured as the voice of peace in the region and rubbed shoulders with the powerful people of the country including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

However, after a Delhi Court on Friday framed charges under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) against Yasin malik and his aides, the skeletons have started to tumble out of Congress’ closet. Popular netizen and author Shefali Vaidya took to Twitter to share a post where Congress leader PC Chacko was seen waxing lyrical for terrorist Yasin Malik.

Shefali whilst sharing an ANI post tweeted, “Remember this? This is how @INCIndia publicly supported Yasin Malik, terrorist, mass murderer and kiIIer of unarmed IAF officers #KashmirFiles”

We appreciate Yasin Malik’s courage: PC Chacko

As reported previously by TFI, in 2019, senior Congress leader PC Chacko had praised JKLF chief Yasin Malik while taking potshots at BJP leader Sadhvi Pragya Thakur. Chacko, then in charge of the Delhi Congress, had lauded Yasin Malik for showing courage and justified the work done by him.

Chacko said, “One convicted, one accused Pragya Thakur can contest elections, how can Delhi Yasin Malik say to surrender at gunpoint at the name of separatism? Anyone who has self-esteem will respond similarly as Mr. Malik gave.”

The Congress leader further added, “Even though we do not support Yasin Malik’s ideology or actions, the courage he has shown is something which should be appreciated because New Delhi cannot threaten anybody, India is a democracy.”

JKLF led the charge in the genocide

It is pertinent to note that Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) is a separatist terror outfit that has been responsible for the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits.

Following the execution of their leader, Maqbool Bhat in the 1980s, the JKLF terrorists, led by Yasin Malik, unleashed mayhem, and by 1990, one of the worst cases of ethnic cleansing since the dreaded Holocaust started in Kashmir Valley. Lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs were maimed, killed, abducted, raped, and forced to evict their homes.

IAF personnel murdered while CM’s daughter kidnapped by Yasin Malik

On the morning of 25th January 1990 around 7:30 AM, some car-borne militants opened fire at a group of unarmed IAF personnel, who were living as tenants in a private house at Rawalpora, at the outskirts of Srinagar, which resulted in the killing of IAF Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna and his three colleagues.

The attack also left 40 injured. Apart from the morbid murder of IAF personnel, JKLF was also involved in the kidnapping of Rubaiyya Sayyed, daughter of the then Home Minister and former J&K CM Mufti Muhammad Sayyed.

UPA worshipped Yasin Malik

Several eyewitnesses pointed to Yasin Malik’s involvement in the firing and kidnapping but despite the overwhelming evidence, no charges were framed in the case for decades and Yasin Malik went on to become a separatist political leader that the UPA government shamelessly befriended.

Yasin Malik roamed free and even met 26/11 mastermind and LeT chief Hafiz Saeed in 2013. Despite his obvious anti-India agenda, he had even been photographed with the then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and in June 2005, went as a part of the Hurriyat delegation to Pakistan to lead the ‘peace talks’.

Yasin Malik remained a heartthrob for the Congress and liberal media of the country for a long time. The latter even invited Malik to big, posh media conclaves, giving him space to write columns and regurgitate his vitriol.
