Under the leadership of PM Modi, India is rising as a major player in global politics

Ever since Modi Government came to power in India, the perception about the nation has changed dramatically. Now, it is playing a more active role in global politics too. PM Modi has represented India on various platforms time and again leading the country to become a global giant. Such is the stature of India in today’s global politics is that Slovenia PM and German Navy Chief have chosen India for their respective causes.

Slovenia chose Doordarshan to launch an attack on China

Slovenia’s Prime Minister Janez Jansa talked about bilateral, regional and global issues of interest or concern to both Ljubljana and New Delhi in an interview with Indian TV station Doordarshan on Monday.

When asked about the meeting with the Indian foreign minister and subsequent use of two hashtags on Twitter “#SouthChinaSea” and “#Taiwan”, Jansa stated that “Everybody who knows history knows the legitimate successor of China and that Slovenia supports the sovereign decision of the Taiwanese people—either to join China or to live independently.”

He added, “They [China] are a democratic country. It is difficult to listen to a capital with a one-party system lecturing about democracy and peace around the world.”

Moreover, he also referred to China’s opposition to Taiwan’s membership in the World Health Organization as a pity.

He further indicated to establishing a representative office in Taiwan “will not be the level of an embassy”.

Germany chose New Delhi to offer a peace proposal to Russia

Germany recently signalled a pragmatic approach to end tensions in Europe by offering a historic peace proposal to Russia over Ukraine. The chief of the German navy during his recent visit to India stated that “Putin wants respect and Russia deserves respect… We, India, Germany need Russia against China”.

However, he resigned less than 24 hours after his comments created a storm in certain countries in Europe. The comments came amid growing fears of an invasion of Ukraine and tensions between Berlin and Kyiv over weapons supplies.

PM Modi- the most popular global leader

PM Modi is ahead of all major world leaders, like US President Joe Biden, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Australian PM Scott Morrison, Canada PM Trudeau, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and others.

His approval ratings are soaring month by month. Earlier in September 2021, Modi had an approval rating of 70 per cent, the highest among 13 global leaders polled in the survey conducted by The Morning Consult. Now, he has once again emerged as the most popular world leader, with an approval rating of 71 percent.

Such is the popularity of PM Modi that Israel PM Bennett had praised PM Modi saying: “You are the most popular person in Israel”. Bennett also invited PM Modi to “come to join my party” during the light-hearted conversation.

And it is under his leadership only that the nation is heading towards becoming a key player in global politics.
