When he was elected as Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau was advertised as a miraculous politician by the dominant spectrum of media. He seemed invincible for many. However, Truckers rallying near the Canadian parliament do not hold the same opinion as elites of Canada.
Trudeau running away from his own people
Justin Trudeau is now hiding from his own people. But wait, this was the story of dictators like Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussain. Right? Unfortunately, his own people’s discontent against Trudeau has reached a level where they do not require an outside force to motivate them.
Anti-Trudeau protestors have now reached Canadian Parliament Hill in Ontario. Trudeau lives within 4 km of the protest site. However, after witnessing the civil unrest engulfing his government, Justin Trudeau has left for an unknown place. Trudeau’s office refused to disclose his location for security reasons.
Apparently, Trudeau’s fear stems from the fact that he has been subject to similar treatment from an army man as well. In 2020, a Canadian armed force member had rammed his vehicle into Rideau Cottage, Trudeau’s home. He was carrying a weapon as well.
Origin of protest
A massive protest against enforced vaccine mandates has been going on in Canada. Trudeau has mandated for everyone to get inoculated with a Covid-19 vaccine if they want to move outside their house. However, a key section of the Canadian working class does not have faith in vaccines.
Things were under Trudeau’s control until a massive supply chain disruption hit the country’s economy. Last week, nearly 100 Truckers organised a cavalcade from Vancouver to Ottawa. The convoy initially was meant to be a civil resistance against the elected government.
Soon, other truckers from all around the country joined in and it snowballed into a political protest. Moreover, normal people also responded to truckers’ calls and travelled long distances to gather near Trudeau’s house. People have effectively shut down the entry and exit gates of the city.
Buoyed by people’s support, Truckers made their voice louder by pressing their horns. People in the protest have said that if Covid-19 related restrictions continue in the country, Communism will take hold.
Khalistanis had planned similar anarchy in India
Apparently, in November 2021, Khalistanis which is unopposed by Justin Trudeau government had planned to organise a similar tractor rally against the Indian Parliament.
Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a US-based secessionist group that supports the secession of Punjab from India as Khalistan, had announced a cash prize of USD 1,25,000 for any Khalistan supporter who will raise the Khalistan-Kesari flag at the Indian parliament on November 29, 2021. Earlier, NIA had asked the Trudeau government to list SFJ as a terrorist organisation, which they did not accept.
Trudeau’s hypocrisy can be gauged from his differential treatments towards Khalistanis and Truckers. On one hand, the Trudeau government did not take any action against Khalistani terrorists who were hell-bent on tearing down India’s democratic paradigm; while on other hand his government is harshly treating Truckers who are raising their genuine livelihood concerns from Canadian parliament.

Trudeau-A clueless politician
Ever Since he came to power Trudeau has been acting like a newbie in electoral politics. Trudeau is running a minority government due to which he has to cater to various interest groups active in Canadian politics. Over the period of time, he has become a pawn of ultra-left liberals dominating western intelligentsia. To cater to elements of his own coalition, critics’ voices have been scuttled by Trudeau.

In Canada, Trudeau has been infamous for dodging questions raised by critics. He refrains from engaging with opposition, a key requirement for a democratic leader. His stands on vaccine mandates also seemed to be grounded in left-tilted ideological possession rather than actual science.

Whenever a politician is getting unrealistic praise from the media, a silent majority of the population stands in disagreement with his/her policies. When that section is constantly demonised, they take to civil disobedience of rulers and often take it down. The truckers’ episode in Canada is turning out to be the exact same phenomenon.
