A little bit of knowledge about the political history is required for one to understand how the Congress party backstabs its allies at the expense of appeasement politics. Assembly elections are going to be held in five states of the country including Uttarakhand and Punjab. While other Political parties are fiercely engaged to compete with each other, Congress has decided to backstab its star campaigner Harish Rawat.

Will Harish split from Congress?

It was a few days back when Harish had shocked the Indian political landscape with his tweet criticising his own party. He later pinned the tweet that indicates the depth and significance as if it was written with a purpose.

Posting a thread of tweets, he clearly expressed his pain for the reason that his party members were trying to throttle his efforts.

He also expressed his disappointment as the people at the top of Congress hierarchy appointed incompetent people to assist him. Fed up with this, he wished to take a full-fledged rest from his job.

The tweets also indicated that he is finding it difficult to survive in the party peacefully as he is extremely saddened with all the developments happening inside the party.

However, Captain Amarinder Singh, who was humiliated in a similar manner as Harish Rawat, remarked that Rawat is only reaping what he has sown.

Harish backstabbed by Congress

Earlier as reported by TFI, Congress will supposedly launch a Dalit face for the post of chief minister in the upcoming 2022 legislative elections in Uttarakhand. Quoting their sources, News18 had reported that the Gandhi family wants to replicate Punjab’s Dalit CM card in Uttarakhand as well.

These speculations set the political circle abuzz only after 9 of the erstwhile BJP leaders made an election-influenced comeback to the congress party. In addition to that, Yashpal Arya, the transport minister in the BJP’s Pushkar Singh Dhami government, and his son Sanjiv Arya had also quit the BJP and joined the Congress. interestingly, the Arya family was the Dalit face of the BJP cabinet.

Despite being fully dedicated to the party’s causes in his home state, Rawat was made crisis-in-charge in Punjab against his wish. In the aftermath, he had to watch Captain Amarinder Singh resigning from the CM post. Against Rawat’s wishes, Charanjit Singh Channi was inducted as chief minister.

Moreover, his posters were also removed from Rahul Gandhi’s rally. However, Harish’s advisor Surinder Aggarwal accused BJP to hide the tussle in the party claiming that the ruling party role is creating a rift inside the Congress. “Harish Rawat is a senior leader of Congress. If his posters are removed from Rahul Gandhi’s rally in the presence of Devendra Yadav, then his role comes into doubt. There’s a probability that Devendra Yadav is involved in the conspiracy.”

Given the above instances, it is safe to say that Congress’ sacrificial lamb for this election season is Harish Rawat. Harish, thus, needs to take a stand and fight for his dignity rather than being a puppet of the aged-old party.
