Bhavatharini Raja is a Tamil singer and composer from India. Her father Ilaiyaraaja is film composer, and her brothers are Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, both well-known film composers.

Her father and brothers have largely directed her to sing songs. In 2000, she won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in the film Bharathi’s song “Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu,” composed by her father Ilaiyaraaja. Bharathi is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language biographical film starring Sayaji Shinde, Devayani, and Nizhalgal Ravi, based on the life of Subramania Bharati.

Gnana Rajasekaran directed the film, which received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil in 2000. The Indian Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil is one of the National Film Awards granted yearly by India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Directorate of Film Festivals. It’s one of the prizes given out for feature films, and it’s given out with Rajat Kamal’s name on it (Silver Lotus).

Personal life

R. Sabariraj, son of S.N. Ramachandran is her husband, an advertising professional. Ramachandran began his career as a journalist before moving into publishing and founding Kannan Advertising. Bhavatharini attended Chennai’s Rosary Matric School.

Career of Bhavatharini

Bhavatharini Raja made her Raasaiya debut as a singer. Her song was a huge success. She has sung on albums composed by her father and brothers since then.

She has also donated her vocals to Deva and Sirpy’s compositions. Devanesan Chokkalingam, better known by his stage name Deva, is an Indian film composer and singer best recognised for his work in Tamil cinema. In a career spanning over two decades, he has composed songs and supplied background music for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films.

Sirpy is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer who goes by the stage name Narayanan. Apart from working in Telugu and Malayalam films, he has primarily composed music for Tamil films. Bhavatharini got a National Award in 2001 for the song Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu from the film Bharathi (the music director was her father).

For the 2002 film Mitr, My Friend, directed by Revathi and starring Shobhana, she took on the role of music director. With Avunaa, she debuted in the Telugu film business. She also composed music for Revathi’s film Phir Milenge, which stars Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, and Salman Khan. She was hired in June 2012 to compose the music for Vellachi, a village-based project. Vellachi is a 2013 Tamil-language romance film directed by Velu Vishwanath and written by him. Pintu and Suchitra Unni star in the film. On March 1, 2013, it was released.
