The recent Lynching in Punjab is no co-incidence

Ever Since  PM Modi came to power in 2014,  lynching has been a favourite topic of left-liberal cabals operating in the country. Now, a few months before the Punjab assembly elections, there seems to be another effort to revive the issue.

3 mob justice within 5 days on the allegation of sacrilege attempts

Within a period of 5 days, 3 separate instances of mob justice have been witnessed in  Punjab.

On 18th December 2021, various people were seen cheering for Mob justice with a dead body of a man accused of disrespecting  Sikhism. The man was alleged to have hit the holy  Guru Granth Sahib  (kept inside Golden Temple) with a Kirpan.

In yet another erringly similar incident, a man was thrashed by people engaged in the preservation of the sanctity of Gurudwara in Nizampur village in the Kapurthala district of Punjab. He was accused of disrespecting Nishan Sahib (Sikh flag).

After Shri Darbar Sahib Amritsar now at Kapurthala Subhanpur Road and Gurudwara Nazampur Mor also today on 19-12-2021 in the morning an attempt was made by a youth to disrespect Guru Sahib. The sangat arrested the accused on the spot. pic.twitter.com/FOeN7FdtVT

— Jagtar Singh Bhullar (@jagtarbhullar) December 19, 2021

When the police team reached the spot of the incident, various Sikh Groups demanded that he should be questioned in front of the Sikh Community itself. Later after a  scuffle with the police (possibly on police’s refusal to cater to Sikh Groups’ illogical demand), the man was lynched by the locals.

Similarly, a few days ago, a youth was arrested in  Golden Temple for allegedly throwing Gutka Sahib in the shrine Sarovar.

Unexpected rise in sacrilege before elections

While all three are separate incidents, observable patterns of these episodes are raising suspicion in the minds of people. Punjab has always been a place where Sikhs have full authority and respect to practice and propagate their religion. Though it’s the same in the whole of India, still Punjab is considered as a hub of Sikhism. How is it possible that only Sikhs’ religious feelings are being disrespected and that too in a state where they are dominant?

Loose attempts by security agencies to maintain law and order

If you look closely at the CCTV footage before the lynching of the man in Golden Temple, it raises some doubts about the security arrangement of the Temple itself.

Similarly, the man who was lynched for disrespecting Nishan Sahib seemed totally oblivious of the surroundings around him. From the video, he seems like a mentally disturbed person. Moreover, according to a  report by Dainik Bhaskar, the man confessed to the crowd that he was paid for disrespecting the Sikh Flag. Dainik Bhaskar further reports that Loudspeaker was used in order to gather people for the purpose of lynching. However, Punjab Police did not find any evidence of sacrilege by the lynched man.

Politicians silent on lynching

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s silence on lynching has stunned everyone. He sent out three tweets condemning only the attempt to sacrilege Sikhism’s symbols. No tweet was sent condemning the heinous lynching of those who died in the incidents.

Similarly, Parkash Singh Badal, Akali Dal patron and five-time chief minister of Punjab described the incidents as deeply shocking and extremely painful. Asking for the punishment of people behind sacrilege attempts, he said, “the whole conspiracy needs to be probed, exposed and those behind it be given exemplary punishment”.

It's unbelievable that such a painful and brazen crime is committed at 'the holiest shrine of humanity' by a single individual. The possibility of deep-rooted conspiracy can not be ruled out! This needs to be probed, exposed and culprits be given an exemplary punishment.

Immigrant Sikh jumps in

Harjap Bhangal, an immigration lawyer based in the UK tried to give a Hindu terrorism angle to the lynching inside Golden Temple. Trying to stoke emotions by bringing in women and children into the issue, he attempted to change a religiously neutral headline by NDTV.  His corrected headline read as “Hindu Terrorist who grabbed a sword in an attempt to attack innocent praying people including women and children is prevented from slaughtering them by Sikhs.”

Let me correct the headline..

Hindu Terrorist who grabbed a sword in an attempt to attack innocent praying people including women and children is prevented from slaughtering them by Sikhs…

Much better…. https://t.co/9lz7jpahE0

Khalistani’s attempt to revive secessionism?

While it is entirely possible that lynchings could be separate incidents, the Khalistani angle cannot be discarded.

It’s now a well-established fact that a huge section of immigrant Punjabis openly supports Khalistani separatists. They had tried their level best to stoke communal tension between Sikhs and Hindus in the wake of farmers protests. When the Lakhimpur Kheri lynching took place, they seemed to be finally getting successful in implementing their nefarious agendas.

However, before they could lay out their final push towards Khalistanis’ secessionism,  farm laws were withdrawn by PM Modi. The withdrawal of farm laws resulted in the prevention of a massive Khalistani tractor rally against the Indian Parliament.

Elections are near, and it’s the perfect time for any politician or anti-national group to stoke fear among the masses. The modus operandi of lynching incidents and political outrage against them has been similar to the fake intolerance issue raised by liberals in 2015. However, until the investigation is ongoing, it would be unwise to arrive at any conclusion.
