National Conference (NC) chairman Farooq Abdullah has always been known for his use of suave language while presenting his radical ideas. But every now and then, he tends to lose his cool and when that happens, the outburst mainly comes out as a threatening call to anyone questioning his views on an issue.
Farooq Abdullah goes berserk on reporter:
On Saturday, 11th December 2021, Farooq Abdullah was visibly shaken when a reporter confronted him on his views regarding Pakistan’s role with regard to recent instability in Kashmir.
In a video, now going viral on social media, Farooq was left jittered when a reporter asked his views about the sacrifices by two police personnel in the valley. Instead of giving any to-the-point answer to a spirited question, Farooq started to lambast the reporter and questioned his intention behind asking such a question to the politician.
“Why are you asking me? What do you want me to say? Do you think we (Abdullah and his brethren) are happy that they are killing people” replied Farooq. He then quickly shifted the blame on the Indian government and effectively ordered the reporter to pose the same question to them. Claiming that even police personnel are not safe in Kashmir valley, he said, “It’s a sad story. Tell the government who are saying everything is hunky-dory. Is it hunky-dory? Are people safe? When your police personnel is not safe, how can a layman feel safe?”

Farooq dodge the proverbial Pakistani bullet and blames the Indian government for the violence in the state:
The reporter then asked his views about possible talks with Pakistan. Dodging the Pakistan angle, he opined that there is no other route and India will have to be on talking terms with its enemies. However, he anguishedly suggested that India should be talking with China and not Pakistan.
Shifting the blame of the opposition’s calls to adjourn parliament on the Modi government, he said, “China is coming towards India, they are occupying our territory, they made their own houses. Does government of India allows a discussion in the parliament to understand what they are doing?”
Seeing Abdullah muddling the water, the reporter decided to directly confront the Pakistani angle by asking “Pakistani terrorists are killing, so why are you giving a clean chit to them?” Stooping to possibly the lowest level of professional decency, he went on to personally address the reporter and accused him of defaming him. He went on to address the reporter as a communal one. He also threatened him with dire consequences.
Kashmiri politicians like Abdullahs are jobless after the abrogation of Art 370:
As reported by the TFI, ever Since, Modi government abrogated Article 370 from the Kashmir Valley, leaders like Farooq Abdullah, his son Umar Abdullah, Peoples Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti and most Hurriyat leaders have been rendered issueless. However, violent killings of migrants and police personnel during the last few months have become an opportunity for now redundant leaders like Abdullah to resurrect their political careers.

Abdullahs-Renowned anti-India element trying to change their tune:
The Abdullahs have long used Jammu and Kashmir as their cash cow, which must be milked to the hilt. Abdullah has had a chequered journey, from acting as a Pakistani stooge in India, the former CM of J&K is now becoming a Chinese lackey in the wake of the Modi government’s decision to abrogate Article 370.

Former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister, Farooq Abdullah has been known for making anti-India and pro-separatist/ pro-Pakistan remarks in the past. Since the Modi government tightened the noose around the pro-Pakistani element in the valley, Abdullah decided to change his tune and started to call himself a pro-Indian politician.

The outburst by Abdullah on the reporter is a clear indication of the fact that relations between Pakistan and pro-Pakistan politicians in the Kashmir valley are getting fractured. Nothing else explains the verbal shield offered to them by Farooq’s charged response.
