Saudi Royals are fuming at Pakistan again, this time over Qureshi’s ill manners

Pakistan is an abrasive, violent, extremist, and uncivilised nation. It really has no right to occupy a space on the world map. Pakistan’s elimination from the face of the earth will bring joy not just to India, but many Islamic countries as well. Among them, Saudi Arabia will be the one to celebrate Pakistan’s extermination with the most fervour. As it turns out, the rift between Saudi Arabia and the rogue nation has widened considerably after the recent Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Council (OIC) meet in Islamabad. Already, Saudi Arabia has debt-trapped Pakistan and extended a loan with conditions on which Islamabad is bound to default.

Therefore, Pakistan itself is a bit annoyed. But Pakistan is not a country that has a right to put its annoyance on display. It is a bankrupt and weak country that survives solely at the mercy of the biscuits thrown at it by China. So, when Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan held a meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the ill-mannerism of Qureshi struck a raw nerve for many Saudi royals.

More than being upset, the people of the Islamic Kingdom and those from the kingdom’s royalty are angry. Here is what happened.

According to the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad, the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi met to discuss current events in the region and “examine bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries.” However, being the ill-mannered and undiplomatic man that he is, Shah Mehmood Qureshi decided to put on a brazen display of his country’s absence of civility.

Many Saudis found Qureshi’s sitting with one leg crossed and the other pointing in the direction of Al-Malki objectionable. The social media users on Twitter and other platforms reacted angrily to Qureshi’s impolite gesture.

On December 30, just days after Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was thrashed for his undiplomatic mannerisms, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary met with the Saudi envoy, ostensibly for “damage” control.

The Saudis are infuriated. And they are likely to strongarm Pakistan even more now. Pakistan has done a lot to antagonise Saudi Arabia. First, it refused to send troops to Yemen in order to help the Saudi-led coalition in its war against the Iran-backed Houthis. Then, Pakistan sought to project Turkey as the new leader of the Muslim world. To top it all, Pakistan has been pushing the Islamic Kingdom to take an anti-India stance on Kashmir for quite some time now, but Riyadh has been sternly refusing to do so.

So, when Shah Mehmood Qureshi decided he wanted to dominate the room with the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, the message was not received well in Saudi Arabia. Now, Pakistan will definitely be made to pay.
