Mamata’s Mumbai meeting with Swara, Munawar, Shatrughan and more looked more like job fair

Mumbai, Mamata Banerjee, Swara Bhaskar, Shatrughan Sinha, Unemployed, Job Fair

In a whirlwind tour of the country, with the latest spot to drop the anchor being Maharashtra, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday rounded up the eminent intellectuals of the country and gave them a ‘safe space’ to speak about the evils of the current regime. The meeting was attended by the likes of Swara Bhasker, Munawar Faruqui, Shobha De, Javed Akhtar, and Shatrughan Sinha amongst others. While they all came from different career streams, the only similarity that joined them was their unemployment and hatred for the current establishment.

Starting her charade by tugging at Mamata’s socialist strings, Swara said, “Everyone in this room is doing their bit. There are older, illustrious people who have spent their lives on it”

She later went on to introduce a rather similar bunch of unemployed SJWs like Munawar Faruqi, Aditi Mittal, Agrima Joshua, Richa Chaddha and Kubra Sait and waxed lyrical that they had been the ideal footsoldiers for TMC.

We are unemployable: Swara Bhasker

However, the segue of her speech boiled down to a single sentence where she stated, “We all are unemployable today,” Perhaps, Swara was trying to gain entry into TMC, which lately has seen a deluge of political opportunists joining the party, hoping to land the elusive Rajya Sabha seat.

Meanwhile, Congress fanboy Tehseen Poonawala took to Twitter to target Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha and remarked, “Amongst those who went to meet #MamataBanerjee ji in Mumbai in her interaction was Shatrughan Sinhaji! Cong gave him a ticket from Patna over a deserving Cong candidate yet despite himself being a INC candidate he campaigned against their official Candidate in Lucknow. Now this!”

Eyeing the elusive Rajya Sabha seat

Despite winning multiple times on BJP tickets, the opportunist in Shatrughan Sinha jumped the ship and joined Congress in 2019. However, with INC sidelining him as well, Sinha is out and about, looking for new pastures, presumably eyeing the Rajya Sabha seat through Mamata and TMC.

Mamata Banerjee has been buoyed ever since she won the assembly elections, earlier this year in May and has been looking to emulate a similar feat on the national map. Mamata is recruiting heavily at the moment and thus the likes of Shatrughan Sinha and Swara Bhasker are trying to charm her and force their way into the party.
