Punjab Congress’s political acumen can be understood through the fact that the aged-old party ousted Amarinder Singh in order to retain puppet Navjot Singh Sidhu. In another move to vindicate its negligible acumen, the party has now inducted controversial Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala to contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
Congress’ “famous” Sidhu:
On the 3rd of December, Punjabi Singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala has been inducted into the Congress party by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and state unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu.
In a bid to welcome Moose Wala into the party, Channi asserted that “The rapper became a big artist with his sheer hard work and won hearts millions of people with his songs.”
Navjot Singh Sidhu, driven by a lack of sense of humour, also welcomed Moose Wala in an awful manner. He tweeted, “Welcome to the fold champ @iSidhuMooseWalaSIDHU square ek aur ek Giaran opposition 9/2/11.”

A “controversial” Sidhu Moose Wala:
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala has his roots in the Moosa village of Mansa district. Moose Wala’s entry into the Congress has grabbed the eyeballs of all as the singer was caught up in the controversies for promoting gun culture through his songs.
Earlier in 2020, Moose Wala was booked under various provisions of the Disaster Management Act and sections of the Arms Act in Barnala for firing an AK-47 rifle at a firing range.
Given the songs glorifying guns and drugs in his songs, Moose Wala was heavily slammed by netizens. He has been booked twice under IPC sections 188 (disobedience to order), 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 504 (provocation to break public peace) for using a 9mm pistol at the Ladda Kothi firing range.
It is pertinent to note that Amarinder Singh led Congress had been against singers found promoting violence and gun culture in Punjabi songs.
The singer, in one of his Punjabi songs titled “Punjab (Motherland)” released in the year 2020, had allegedly hailed Khalistani leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his aides. Reportedly, the song starts with Bharpoor Singh Balbir’s speech in which he is narrating the need for political power for the Sikh community.
A Khalistani supporter and promoter of drug and gun culture, Sidhu Moose Wala is all that the aged-old Congress party needed to concede grounds for BJP in upcoming elections. Interestingly, Sidhu Moose Wala and Navjot Singh Sidhu, both the Sidhus are going to hand over a horrible defeat to Congress in upcoming elections.
