Under Trinamool Congress’ Supremo Mamata Banerjee’s regime, West Bengal has been witnessing a constant surge in cases of slaughtering, killings, and rapes. Instead of taking strict actions against those committing sins, government officials are engaged in filthy politics. Not only filthy politics, but the officials have also begun molesting children.
West Bengal govt officials arrested for child sexual abuse:
Recently, a member of the Howrah chapter of the child welfare committee and the son of a former deputy mayor has been put behind the bars over the charges of sexual abuse of children at Karuna West Bengal Women and Children Welfare Society, which is a government-run home.
Earlier, Sumit Adhikari along with ten others was arrested under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) act. It is pertinent to note that along with Sumit Adhikari, his wife Gitasree and a senior official of the rank of assistant director in the state government’s women and child development and social welfare department were also arrested.
A Howrah Police Commissionerate officer said that Sumit was allegedly aware of the child molestation in the home where his wife Gitasree was working as the secretary. He said, “Being a member of Howrah’s CWC wing, Sumit Adhikari would often visit the home but never raised any alarm against the malpractices that have been reported inside the home.”
The arrest took place after a child from the home, who was adopted by a family, told her new parents about the dreadful experience which she had to go through in the home and the parents lodged a formal complaint against the so-called government officials.
‘Safety’ in Mamata’s West Bengal:
Nobody including women and children in West Bengal is safe under the rule of Mamata Banerjee. The safety levels in the state can be understood from a viral video that had gone viral on social media. In the video, a Muslim TMC leader could be seen telling a Dalit BJP leader to send his wife for a few days to him for being allowed to return to his village. “Send your wife Pinki to me for few days, then only we will allow you back in the village,” were the words of a local TMC leader, Muzaffar, to the husband of a Hindu Dalit BJP worker in Minakhan assembly constituency area, district North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
As reported by TFI earlier, several women, who have been allegedly subjected to gang-rape by Mamata’s band of TMC hooligans, have approached the Supreme Court to seek relief and safeguard their lives. The victims have called on the Supreme Court to initiate an SIT probe into the incidents of post-poll violence against women and the supposed inaction of the state police.
This is how Mamata’s Bengal is. The woman who claims to be a saviour of women and children in the state has completely failed to be the so-called ‘saviour.’
