A Muslim guy was coolly traveling in a West Bengal state bus with 20 live bombs

Bengal, Mamata

The reign of terror by Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal has bolstered the confidence of radical Islamists to raise the level of terrorist activities. According to a News 18 report, the Ghalsi police on Wednesday (December 15), arrested a man carrying 20 live bombs in the Burdwan City, traveling via a state bus to the Panagarh Army Camp. The man apprehended has been identified as Mohammad Sarfaraz Ansari.

Judging by the destination, Ansari was attempting to cause serious damage to the Army camp, akin to the Uri attacks. He was arrested from the SBSTC bus on charges of smuggling bombs, and was produced in Burdwan court.

As per the updates from the intelligence department, the Ghalsi police stopped and searched the government bus on the national highway. However, a detailed inquiry has been conducted to ascertain the reason why the bombs were being carried in the bus.

Not the first time that live bombs have been caught in Bengal:

This is not the first time that such a large tranche of crude bombs have been recovered in the state. Reportedly, in the month of June, more than 50 crude bombs were recovered by Kolkata police from Khidderpore and Hastings crossing area, barely 20 meters from the BJP office.

In May, an 11-year-old boy from West Bengal’s Birbhum district was killed in a crude bomb explosion. The bomb was kept in a box near a canal in Khatipur village when the boy accidentally came in contact with it and died on the spot as the bomb exploded.

Similarly in March, guns, bombs and bomb-making equipment were recovered from the residence of fugitive Indian Secular Front (ISF) worker Ziarul Mollah with his father, Jalil Mollah subsequently being arrested. It is pertinent to note that Congress had allied with ISF in the run up to the assembly elections.

Tamal Sarkar, the senior police official of crime (Baruipur district police), at the time of arrest had said, “After receiving information from secret sources at night, we started searching the house of ISF worker Ziarul Mollah. A shotgun and bombs and bomb-making equipment were recovered from his home during the search. We have arrested accused ISF worker Ziarul Mollah’s father Jalil Mollah. Search is on for the accused Ziarul Mollah.”

The ruling party in the state has become synonymous with the politics of removing opposition leaders by using violent and at times fatal means. Several BJP leaders and activists have lost their lives battling TMC’s autocratic rule in the state.

Moreover, Mamata hasn’t shied away from dissing armed forces such as the CRPF and the Indian Army. One of Mamata’s core vote bank has been Muslims and the radicals of the religion, inspired by her hatred have started to come after the forces. Ansari is merely a manifestation of Mamata’s vision.
