The recent heavy defeat in the Huzurabad by-election, as it seems, did not go down well with Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Since the Huzurabad bypoll was considered to be a prestigious battle between KCR and his former dependant Etela Rajender, KCR’s patience is running thin after losing by-polls. Thus, he has begun attacking Narendra Modi-led Central government and has also resorted to threatening the BJP leaders.
“We’ll cut your tongues”, said temperamental KCR
A rattled K Chandrasekhar Rao, on Sunday, claimed that the BJP lied over international crude oil prices. As Quoted by ANI, KCR asserted, “Crude oil prices were 105 US dollars in 2014 and now it is 83 US dollars. BJP lied to the public saying that prices of petrol and diesel have increased internationally.”
“What has BJP done in the last 7 years? India’s GDP is less than Bangladesh, Pakistan and Centre has increased taxes unnecessarily,” KCR added.
Fuming over the by-polls defeat, KCR made a desperate attempt to attack the BJP. Additionally, he also alleged that the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party leaders would file cases against him and send him to prison. And, in response to the allegation, he replied, “We’ll cut your tongues if you pass unnecessary comments on us.”
KCR attacks BJP President Bandi Sanjay
Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao also attacked Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay. While Sanjay is asking the farmers of the state to go for paddy in the forthcoming rabi season, the ruling TRS government is asking them not to do so. The frustration of Sanjay is quite visible as he repeatedly accused the Centre, and particularly union cabinet minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, of not buying paddy.
KCR went furious and stated, “Clearly, the BJP, for its cheap political gains, is misleading the farmers of the state. The state BJP president Bandi Sanjay doesn’t know a thing and is talking irresponsibly and personally attacking me. I kept quiet till now. But henceforth I am warning we will cut his tongue.”
Rift between Etela and KCR
Etela Rajender, who recently defeated KCR in the prestigious battle of by-polls, was removed from the cabinet and TRS for unknown reasons. Afterward, he joined BJP. Riding on the top brass governance and with his own ground support, he defeated TRS nominee Gellu Srinivas comfortably by more than 23,000 votes.
Hence, the election was a crucial battle between the TRS and the BJP and more so between KCR and Etela Rajender. KCR, insecure of BJP’s impressive electoral victories in Telangana, also stated, “Just because they won Huzurabad doesn’t mean anything. In 2018 assembly elections this same BJP lost deposits in 107 constituencies.”
Thus, the reason behind a rattled KCR is quite obvious.
