Samriddhi Sakunia and Swarna Jha – the two journalists who tried to set Tripura ablaze

Samruddhi Sakunia, Swarna Jha

The liberal journalists, driven by their petty ideology to destabilize India, are keen on the abrahamisation of the country. While the nation is already struggling due to radical Islamists and separatists, the left journalists are adding up to it and using the Hindu-Muslim angle to run their propaganda. In such a move, they can stoop to any low to peddle their agenda. The recent development in which two journalists named Samriddhi Sakunia and Swarna Jha spread fake news to set an anti-Hindu narrative is an example of the same.

Samriddhi and Swarna’s ‘liberal’ reporting

Reportedly, Samriddhi Sakunia and Swarna Jha who work for the HW News network fabricated the truth about attacks on mosques and attempted to instigate the Muslims of Tripura. On the 11th of November, Sakunia had shared a video on Twitter in which she can be seen peddling fake news about attacks on mosques in Tripura. She wrote, “Darga Bazaar: On 19th October at around 2:30 am, some unidentified people burnt down the mosque in Darga Bazaar area. People in the neighborhood are very upset with the fact that now they don’t have any place nearby to go and pray There’s no other masjid nearby.”

Reportedly, Sakunia had also claimed that a copy of the Quran had been burnt by Hindus inside a prayer hall owned by one Rahmat Ali at Hurijala in the Kakraban police station area of Gomati district. However, after the police verified the claim, it was found that no copy of the Quran had been burnt.

Rahmat Ali, when interrogated by the police on Sunday, asserted that some documents may have been burnt in the fire that engulfed the prayer hall on 19 October. Ali added that half-burnt documents were taken away by a team from Delhi that had visited the area at the end of October.

Well, the anti-Hindu journalists did not stop here. They also visited Gomati and other Muslim-dominated localities of West Tripura, Sepahijala, and Unakoti districts to propagate the anti-Hindu ideologies. They interacted with Muslims at Paul Bazar in the Fatikroy police station area of Unakoti district to instigate them against Hindus. The shameless ‘journalists’ spat venoms against Hindus asking them to seek revenge for the alleged attacks on mosques and Muslim shops last month.

‘Journalists’ detained by Tripura Police

In order to prevent any violence in Tripura which could be triggered by fake reports of torching of mosques and attacks on Muslims, Tripura Police stepped in with the decision to arrest both the ‘journalists’. The duo was charged under Sections 153A (promoting religious enmity), 153B (publishing fake news prejudicial to national integration), 120B (party to criminal conspiracy), 193 (fabrication of evidence), 504 (deliberate provocation to break public peace), 120B (party to criminal conspiracy), and 204 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Tripura Police has claimed that Sakunia and her colleague were trying to escape. The duo crossed the interstate border at Churaibari to enter the Karimganj district of Assam. While the police came to know about the escape, they contacted their counterparts in Assam. Thereafter, the two were detained by Assam police at Nilam Bazar in Karimganj district.

However, they have been granted bail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Tripura’s Gomti district.

It is pertinent to note that the aftermath of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh during Durga Pooja led to protest by Hindu organisations in Tripura. The liberal media made an opportunity of it and news of mosques being torched were circulated. Tripura Police, refuting the reports, had released photos of mosques in perfect condition, but the so-called journalists have nothing to do with the facts.

It is high time the left-liberal media instead of making their careers by peddling lies about Hindus should focus on presenting the truth on the basis of concrete facts and figures. Fueling Hindu-Muslim violence in their own country will reflect poorly on them, and eventually, they are going to fall into their own pit.
