A rattled China is hurling accusations at the Indian government through its propaganda mouthpiece, Global Times. The gossip magazine recently claimed that ‘Evil Flower’ — an Indian Govt-Backed Group has mounted an offence on China’s defence facilities.
Global Times reported, “Investigations conducted by several of China’s leading cybersecurity companies have revealed a sophisticated network: they have constantly attacked defense and military units as well as state-owned enterprises in China, Nepal and Pakistan over the past few years, and such attacks are on the rise under new disguises of international trendy topics.”
Repeated hacking attempts by the hacking groups: China
The publication also claimed that other than Evil Flower, groups with codenames like ‘Lure of Beauty’, ‘Ghost War” and ‘Elephants’ were also operating in the shadows. China labelled these hackers as ‘Advanced Persistent Threat’ (APT), which basically is a hacking organisation that repeatedly attacks selected targets.
“Their attacks were largely on the rise in the first half of 2021, targeting education, government, aerospace and defence industries in many fields. Those attacks were especially aimed at organizations or individuals mentioned in online trending topics on politics and economy, the pandemic situation and industrial activities,” Chinese technology company 360 Security Technology told Global Times.
No evidence for the hacking
While the report levels accusation without any evidence, it does not make it clear how the supposed hacker group went unchecked for two years when Xi Jinping and his CCP have been cracking down in cyberspace.
The People Republic of China accusing India of hacking is somewhat rich, considering it is notorious for espionage and crimes against humanity. After gifting the planet with a deadly virus, China had been trying to steal the vaccine and its formula from the countries developing it.
China had tried to steal vaccine development data
As reported by TFI, last year, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, and cybersecurity experts had remarked that Chinese hackers were trying to steal research on developing a vaccine against coronavirus.

The reports had stated that China was employing its ‘non-traditional actors’ to steal the data. ‘Non-traditional actors’ was a term extensively used by President Donald Trump as a euphemism for the Chinese researchers and students living in America whilst working for CCP’s sinister motives.
China has been accused of trying to steal military technology and there have been several instances where some highly sought after the technology is stolen by the Chinese spies masquerading as US expatriate population.
A Chinese Professor who taught at the University of Texas was charged with stealing state-of-the-art technology from a Silicon Valley firm. He had turned out to be a secret agent for Chinese tech major Huawei, which is blacklisted in the United States over security concerns.
India is sophisticated in its cyber espionage and surveillance skills. If it had indeed mounted an attack using amateur hacking groups, some digital footprint inadvertently would have been left.
However, given the fact that neither Global Times nor CCP could furnish any evidence to back their claims, it is ostensibly made clear that they are lying and trying to make India look bad.
