Badshah’s Youtube-Gate has been exposed

Rapper Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, popularly known as Badshah had been in news for allegedly stealing songs from original makers. Now, it turns out that the popular rapper’s fame is also fake as his Youtube-Gate is getting exposed day by day.

Badshah bought views

Indian rapper and pop artist Badshah is alleged to have bought fake views and engagements for his songs. According to a humongous 446-page charge sheet filed by Mumbai Police, Badshah paid more than Rs 1 per view to increase views on his YouTube video. He paid a total of Rs 74 lakh to get 72 lakh views for his song.

According to a TOI report, the charge sheet mentions a total of 25 witnesses and 5 accused. Badshah and actress Koena Mitra have been named as witnesses in the case. The CFO of the company who helped Badshah in gaining -fake views reportedly admitted that he has helped a total of 7-8 celebrities by charging a hefty amount. 

The techie who helped celebrities in inflating the views is reportedly having no remorse over his actions and claims that nothing he did was illegal. Rather, he is bemused by the fact that celebrities are not subjected to strict actions by law-enforcement agencies.

Mumbai Police had busted the racket

In July 2020, Mumbai Police busted a fake view racket. When singer Bhoomi Trivedi registered a complaint that someone had created a fake social media profile in his name, police’s investigation unearthed a racket that helped in amplifying celebrities’ social media engagement and popularity. Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) arrested 21-year-old Abhishek Davade, an employee of the website called followerskart.com. The website provided fake likes, comments, followers to these celebrities for a specified fee using bots.

From Davade alone, police had recovered more than 5 lakh fake followers. These fake followers had diversified profiles on FacebookInstagram, then legal Tik-Tok and YouTube. A total of 18 celebrities including film directors, choreographers and models had been summoned by the police in the matter. Further investigations revealed that more than 100 such websites have been running around providing fake and inflated ego boosts to narcissistic celebrities. According to the reports Badshah had accepted that he paid Rs 74 lakh for making a world record of getting the most number of views on the very first day of release of his song ‘Pagal Hai’. However, later the rapper had denied his acceptance of the guilt through a statement.
