India’s vaccination drive has stunned the world. After India touched a milestone to vaccinate one billion of the population of+ the country, it is all set to begin a global fight against the pandemic and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will personally ensure that the entire world becomes resistant to the pandemic.
India’s CoWIN app to facilitate the world
The CoWIN platform has been a one-stop medium for citizens to register and book appointments for them to get vaccinated against Covid-19. Witnessing its success in India, countries from around the world have begun demanding the app. India, meanwhile, has agreed to share its CoWIN development and will soon kickstart facilitating the entire world to help them run smooth vaccination campaigns.
PM Modi also held a meeting on Saturday where he interacted with Indian manufacturers of the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine. Reportedly, representatives from seven vaccine makers – Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Zydus Cadila, Biological E, Gennova Biopharma and Panacea Biotech attended the meeting.
He asserted that following the success of the vaccination drive in the country, the entire world is looking up to the nation.
India resumed export of covid vaccines
With the motive to combat the second wave of Coronavirus in India, the Modi government had put on hold the export of its Covid-19 vaccines. However, earlier in September, the government announced that the nation is all set to resume its flagship Vaccine Maitri initiative from October to reduce supply inequity in poorer nations. In a recent development, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Iran celebrated the arrival of 1 million doses of Covid vaccines from India.
On January 20, India had started external supplies under Vaccine Maitri in the form of grant-in-aid and commercial sales, and through COVAX, the multilateral initiative aimed at global access to Covid vaccines, which is led by Gavi, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and WHO. Through this initiative, more than 6.63 crore doses were exported.

India administered one billion doses of Covid vaccines
On Thursday, the country touched a milestone to deliver the billionth dose of coronavirus vaccines which further reached 1.02 billion doses on Saturday evening. PM Modi applauded vaccine makers for having played a “big role in the success story of India.”
SII CEO Adar Poonawalla lauded the Prime Minister for the achievement and said “All over the world, countries will invest in vaccine manufacturing and India needs to stay ahead and we discussed how to do that together with the industry and the government… This is a great milestone. We were able to achieve it because of the vision of the Prime Minister and the industries working with the government.”
Well, if there was one country that has genuinely helped the world battle the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, it is India. The entire world has also begun recognizing that India, the largest vaccine-producing country, can play a massive role in vaccinating the world. Thus, continuing with its policy of helping other countries battle the China-made pandemic, India under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership is all set to ensure that the world becomes immune to the pandemic.
