KINFRA – Full form
Full form of KINFRA is Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation. Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA full form) is a government agency dedicated to catalyzing industrial growth in Kerala. Its headquarters are in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. KINFRA has played a pivotal role in making state industry friendly. In three and a half years, it directly employed 11,197 people. 288.39 acres of land were also made available to companies.
KINFRA’s objective
Creation of a manufacturing infrastructure that invites precision manufacturing industries with high value-added products, especially in the fields of machinery, manufactured metal products, rubber and plastic products, food and beverage, textiles, non-metallic mineral products, pharmaceuticals.
Position KINFRA as a facilitator of industrial floor benches and develop an integrated manufacturing cluster. Introduction of investor-friendly policies and offers through the inculcation of best practices in territorial policy strategies for tendering, leasing and subletting.

KINFRA Project
In three and a half years, KINFRA full form (Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation) employed 7,197 people directly and 4,000 indirectly. During this period, 288.39 acres of land were allocated for 264 projects. Currently, no prior permission required to start industries up to Rs 10 crores.
KINFRA has been a forefront in creating job opportunities in the state, which is crucial to strengthen Kerala’s industrial growth. An estimated 7,197 people have been employed in the last three and a half years through initiatives such as KINFRA from the Department of Industries.
Indirectly, some 4,000 people have been employed. During this period, an investment of Rs 471 million was made in the State through KINFRA. 288.39 acres of land were made available for 264 projects. These ventures provided employment for 7,197 people. During 2011-16, 188.72 acres of land were allocated for 274 projects. It has created 4498 jobs.

Permissions required and other essentials
The lease period for land in industrial parks has been increased from two to five years. This gave those who started businesses on industrial park land more time to pay the rent. Entrepreneurs were also relieved that the interest rate was lowered from 12 percent to 9 percent.

Investors can apply for KINFRA land through K-Swift, a one-stop-shop authorization system designed to streamline industrial authorizations. Industry Minister unveiled the revised version of the K-Swift, which includes a new law that does not require prior permission to start industries worth up to Rs 10 crores. The application for industrial land can also be made through the renewed system.
