Geelani’s Grandson gets kicked out of Government services amidst Kashmir clean-up operation

It was only a month back when Syed Ali Shah Geelani – a lifelong Islamic jihad sympathizer who peddled the ISI’s narrative on Kashmir and drove the valley’s youth to the path of violence died an inglorious death. With Geelani’s death, new dawn arrived for Kashmir valley. Now, the Government has also kicked out Geelani’s grandson Anees-ul-Islam, from the services of Research Officer with International Convention Centre, Kashmir.

Government in action for Kashmir clean-up

Following the Kashmir clean-up operation, the government has been taking every possible measure to prevent terrorism in the valley. In such a move, the Government, on Saturday, ordered the termination of Geelani’s grandson Anees-ul-Islam who is currently working as a Research Officer in Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre.

The order reads, “The Lieutenant Governor is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available that the activities of Mr. Anees-ul-Islam, Research Officer in Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre S/o Altaf Ahmad Shah R/o 119-MIG Green Park, Bemina, Srinagar A/p Bachpora, Srinagar are such as to warrant his dismissal from service.”

It further observed, “The Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of Mr. Anees-ul-Islam, Research Officer in Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre S/o Altaf Ahmad Shah R/o 119-MIG Green Park, Bemina, Srinagar A/p Bachpora, Srinagar.”

Government’s efforts for the terror-free Kashmir

The government, learning from its mistakes, has grown smart. Syed Ali Shah Geelani did not get the grand funeral the way Burhan Wani got when he died in 2016. It was only because of the pre-emptive measures taken by the J&K administration to prevent a breakdown of law and order as Lakhs had descended in Kashmir’s Tral for Wani’s funeral that ended up as a naked show of radicalism, extremism and separatism.

The Modi government has crushed separatists like him, and they simply have no influence any longer. Moreover, the government also stepped in with few measures for safety and security in the valley. The CID wing of the J&K Police ordered to refute the security clearance required for passport and other government services of every individual involved in stone-pelting or insubordinate activities.

However, witnessing the current scenario in Kashmir where Hindus are being shot down in the streets, the Government needs to intervene and that too with strict actions. The government needs to recognize the fact that Kashmir which has been polluted by terrorists requires immediate cleansing. Geelani’s grandson Anees-ul-Islam being kicked out of the Government services is an applaudable move, but the Government should not stop here.
