Under the name Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha Scheme, the government of Delhi has launched an entrance exam called the Science Scholarship Exam, As per sources will be held between month of February to march 2022. The incentive is deemed to be 5000 Rupees to top thousand students who score at this examination. The reason bind implementing this scheme is to motivate the students to pursue further education and promote science education at secondary level of schooling.
Who are Eligible for Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha
Students who have secured 60% or more in the previous grade that is 8th grade are eligible. Also, students belonging to scheduled castes, tribes, the disabled and other backward classes were eligible for a five per cent easing of grades. Students from other states studying in Delhi will not participate in the program.
Students from grade eight onwards who wish to apply for the Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha Scholarship for 2021 must meet the eligibility criteria. Year 9 students must verify the eligibility criterion of the programme by accessing this portal. All students from accredited schools in Delhi receive a scholarship certificate from the Directorate of Education (NCT) in Delhi.
There is a strict rule in the MVPP that students must study at a school in Delhi and not attend Indian scholarship exams.
Particulars about the Scheme
On 28 March, the Delhi Directorate of Education, Mukhyamantri, conducted Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha, so that ninth grade students could select her for a scholarship program. According to official information from the Directorate, a total of 1,000 students selected for the annual scholarship will receive 5,000 rupees each. The Delhi Board of School Education, the general body, has held its first meeting to discuss issues of registration and constitution of the body.

It is certainly a beneficial decision taken by the government to advance and promote science among students at the same time if the incentive was more desirable, it would have invited more applicants.
