How Dangerous Sidhu really is?

Sidhu, Amarinder, Punjab, Congress

Navjot Singh Sidhu has emerged as a central figure in Punjab’s politics. For a long time now, Sidhu has been waging an anti-Captain Amarinder Singh campaign in the state, the result of which was seen yesterday, as the sitting chief minister – who drove Congress to successive victories in Punjab, resigned. Make no mistake, the Congress party won Lok Sabha polls and assembly elections in Punjab solely because of Captain Amarinder Singh. However, the grand old party is currently so enamoured by Navjot Singh Sidhu’s puppet-like behaviour before the Gandhi family that it is willing to let him decide the fate of an entire state.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is a notorious fellow. Changing political parties seasonally is not only his hobby but a habit. Whichever party promises him the easiest path to success, the man will direct his energies and loyalty towards it. In the Congress, Sidhu realised that winning over the Gandhis was key to all successes. So, he committed himself in an unflinching manner to the mother-son duo, and the results of the same are now visible. The Congress party has removed Captain Amarinder Singh as chief minister, and the state will now practically be run by the Gandhis via Sidhu, notwithstanding the new chief minister.

Sidhu – The Rabble Rouser

After his elevation as state chief in July, Sidhu launched a flurry of attacks on the Punjab CM’s pro-development and pro-farmer policies. He challenged Amarinder to scrap the three farm laws and warned him that if he does not do so, other Congress MLAs would do it themselves. In August, Captain Amarinder Singh warned two of Navjot Sidhu’s advisors against atrocious and ill-conceived comments on issues like Kashmir and Pakistan. Later, the advisors were sacked by the party. During an event in Amritsar, Sidhu was heard as saying, ‘if he is not allowed to take decisions, he won’t spare anyone’. “Eent se eent baja dunga” were his own words.

Captain has been wary of Sidhu’s intentions and has decided to openly call out Sidhu and his anti-national agenda. In an interview, Captain was quoted as saying– “Navjot Singh Sidhu is an incompetent man, he is going to be a disaster. I will oppose his name for the next CM face. He has a connection with Pakistan. It will be a threat to national security…”.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was a disaster as a cabinet minister. He failed to undertake any substantial work. The most he did was rabble-rousing and inflaming sentiments against Captain Amarinder Singh’s leadership. Sidhu is a master at oratory – there are no doubts about that. He uses his communication skills to inflame sentiments against his challengers. Navjot Singh Sidhu is the kind of man who has the ability to convince you that you are, in fact, not you, but somebody else. All that he needs to do so is spend some time with you. He can speak continuously; however, as a leader and administrator, Sidhu is an utter failure.

Sidhu – The Gandhi Poodle

Navjot Singh Sidhu is among the most vociferous Gandhi loyalists in the Congress party today. His stunning rise as the PCC chief surprised many political commentators. However, he was simply being rewarded for his unflinching dedication towards the Gandhis. Moreover, it is no secret that Rahul Gandhi continues to take important decisions in Congress, despite not holding any official post within the party right now. And Rahul Gandhi is no fan of Captain Amarinder Singh. On umpteen occasions, Captain has shown the Gandhi prince his place.

Therefore, in order to replace a chieftain like Captain, the Gandhis empowered Sidhu. With Captain out of power, the Gandhis have established their rule over Punjab, at least until the next assembly elections.

Sidhu – The Pakistan Sympathiser

Despite Pakistan’s support for Islamist terrorism, Sidhu has maintained a close friendship with Imran Khan. In fact, Sidhu is even famed for having embraced Pakistan’s chief of army staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Furthermore, Sidhu is not expected to go as hard on Khalistani elements in Punjab as Captain Amarinder Singh did. This will also end up aiding Pakistan in its goal to destabilize India.

The former cricketer turned politician and the new state President, Navjot Singh Sidhu, had also installed a notorious advisory panel and appointed Pyare Lal Garg and Malvinder Singh Mali as his trusted lieutenants. Malvinder Singh Mali – Sidhu’s aide, in a shocking development, described Kashmir as a separate ‘country’ in his Facebook post. Mali wrote a feature-length post on his Facebook wall and regurgitated his venom and hatred for India and its inalienable territory. Pyare Lal Garg, meanwhile, questioned Captain Amarinder Singh’s criticism of the terrorist state of Pakistan. Garg showing his full sympathy for Pakistan said any criticism of Pakistan by Captain was not in the interest of Punjab.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is a dangerous element, and the people of Punjab must be wary of him. They must not take him at face value and admire him for his fiery speeches but must dissect his, and his masters’ ulterior motives for Punjab.
