Taliban spoils Mamata’s inaugural Khela Hobe Day

Khela Hobe

Seems like West Bengal CM Mamata’s love for minority appeasement and communal colour has been destroyed by the framework of the Taliban. The Trinamool Congress is celebrating the inauguration of the Khela Hobe Divas, (Game on the day) on Monday across West Bengal and a few other states including, Tripura. Her limelight seems to be stolen by the ‘Taliban invasion of Afganistan’, as Indians of the Muslim community: including some ‘journalists’ could be seen celebrating the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan on social media.

On 16th August, Mamata Banerjee formally institutionalized and celebrated her bloodlust poll slogan ‘Khela Hobe’ as ‘Khela Hobe Diwas’. Khela Hobe Diwas takes us back to a black day in Indian history when Pakistan’s founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah of the Muslim League had launched the horrific “Direct Action Day” against Hindus back in 1946. Mamata’s Muslim appeasement strategy made her select the same day for celebrating the same.

“August 16 is a blot on Bengal’s history. The day is horrifically remembered as Direct Action Day or Great Calcutta Killings which led to the brutal killings of thousands of Bengalis,” Suvendu Adhikari BJP leader of the state assembly, said on social media earlier this month.

But now it seems like a bigger misfortune falls on this very day as, The Taliban declared war in Afghanistan is finally over after demonstrating a successful military coup, as president Ghani has resigned and fled the country. The terror group took control of the presidential palace in Kabul, the U.S.-led forces departed and Western nations scrambled on Monday to evacuate their citizens. The Taliban invasion seems to have overjoyed some in the Islamic community, which seems to be the very purpose of Mamta’sponsored “Khela Hobe Day”, the day of bloodshed in India under DIRECT ACTION DAY in 1946. It is indeed unfortunate enough for Mamata Banerjee as The Taliban invasion seems to have invaded her plan for favouring the Muslims. A group of Muslim communities in India which also includes some Indian journalists could be seen congratulating each other and celebrating the Taliban invasion which proves the same.

This indeed proves that Mamata’s plan was a disaster and a big flop. As the media is heated with Taliban invasion, Mamata and the TMC did not achieve the attention she strived for. Ironically, Mamata’s post-poll violence and the origin of the Khela Hobe Diwas are quite similar to the kind of violence the Taliban is executing in Afghanistan. Khela Hobe has been all about retribution from those who went against the TMC, quite like what the Taliban has been doing in Kabul. The announcement of celebrating “Khela Hobe Day” on 16th August, displays a tyrant in the guise of a leader. Mamata Banerjee, who is synonymous with the dictatorial nature of the Taliban, always craved the attention, which today seems to have been stolen by the Taliban. History seems to be repeating as the nation remembers this horrific day of unspeakable cruelties and genocide.
