Pakistan thought it will freely support Taliban, but some huge sanctions await it

“Sanction Pakistan” is the buzzword in South Asian affairs now and with more intensity than ever. Amrullah Saleh, the vice President of Afghanistan has openly called for a sanction on Pakistan from the United Nations and the International community altogether due to its constant support in the resurgence of Barbaric and full-time human rights’ violating terrorists’ group called Taliban.

Chris Alexander, a seasoned diplomat, and politician who spent six years in Afghanistan serving as a Canadian resident Ambassador and Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan and a vociferous critic of Pakistan’s sponsored terrorism echoed the same sentiment through his tweets. He even argued that the only way to end the Taliban Problem is by Sanctioning Pakistan.

At the time of writing, more than 390k tweets were sent in support of #SanctionPakistan. The trend has already gone viral in many countries including Turkey, which is fast emerging as a top ally of the terror state. This movement is expected to make a formal protest from all around the world.

The bloodthirsty regime of politicians and Military Generals of this new state was never going to remain stable. They wanted an Indian state of Kashmir and that’s when this country started to export its violent fruits to the countries outside the borders of the Indian sub-continent. The Kashmir obsession engulfed Pakistani leadership in such a way that they could never focus on development. Time and again Pakistan’s official military kept facing soul-crushing defeats in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999, but they could never think of anything other than Kashmir. For the last 70 years, they have been trying to wage Guerrilla warfare against India and have always kept the borders busy despite the constant loss of civilians along with military lives.

Pakistan’s support to Al-Qaeda, Jamat-ud-Dawa, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed is a fact. It was one of the few countries which gave legitimacy to a 700 AD style tribal warlord-like Taliban Government in Afghanistan in 1996. Now that American troops are withdrawing from war-torn Afghanistan, leaving the country more destabilized, Taliban has propped up as a front runner in Afghanistan as a replacement. Taliban has been growing from strength to strength, all thanks to the American dollars provided to it by the Pakistani establishment which sucked trillions of dollars in the name of fighting terrorism from America after the 9/11 attack.

After the USA’s withdrawal announcement, the area of SPIN BOLDAK has reacquired a strategic status, it’s a border town between Afghanistan and Pakistan where the ravages of war can be found daily. Recently, an Indian photojournalist Danish Siddique was killed and his body was brutally mutilated by the Taliban in this area.

Recently, Afghanistan’s vice-president Amrullah Saleh confirmed that Pakistan has been threatening Afghanistan with airstrikes if the Afghani civilian government decided to take any action against the Taliban. Pakistanis are also prepared to officially give any kind of military support to the Taliban besides giving back-end support to these barbarians. After the USA exit, Pakistan is terrified of Indian goodwill infrastructural projects in Afghanistan, which have created a soft space for Indians in Afghanis’ minds. Pakistan does not want to lose relevance in the region, as it is already mired by domestic troubles like Balochistan. Sky-rocketing inflation, being one of the worst countries in any development related index and the threat of being a Chinese colony. Thus, putting its bait on the Taliban getting full control in Afghanistan will result in Afghanistan being a gateway drug for the Pakistani establishment’s far-fetched dream of giving India a ‘thousand cuts.’

It’s high time, that the United Nations divert its attention from woke agendas and put international sanctions on Pakistan under chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, which provides for all kinds of sanctions, including militaristic as well as non-military sanctions like Economic, rail, sea, air, telephone, and other means of communication. The world is looking at the tumour called Pakistan and Taliban alliance, if sanctions are not imposed on Pakistan soon, it will be a matter of time to develop this tumour into non-curable cancer.
