5000 Madarsa’s are being shut down in Uttar Pradesh

UP Minority Commision Madarsas

Yogi Government is all set to shut down five thousand Madarsas in Meerut. The UP Minorities Commission ordered to shut down these institutions following the violation of rules and not acting as per the standards.

Suresh Jain, the member of UP Minorities Commission, through a press conference, provided the information to the media. He claimed that that five thousand Madarsas have been closed in UP by the commission for not following the measures set by the commission.

Suresh further claimed that despite uploading the complete details of recognized Madarsas of Uttar Pradesh in the portal, these Madarsas were found running against the standards which eventually led the Commission to order for closing them permanently. In addition to that, the closure of these Madarsas will also help the government in an annual saving of Rs 100 crore.

Suresh went on to inform the media that a new portal of Madrasa Education Board has been formed by the commission and all the Madarsas are instructed to upload the details in this portal.

Moving further, he also said that in a development, the syllabus of Madrasas has also been updated. Additionally, with the multiple cases of forgery and fraud reported at many places, the board has also taken legal action against 10 people in Meerut.

However, the government has been running many welfare programs in the state to benefit the minorities as well. It is not only Madarsas who are being benefitted through government’s welfare programs but Jain and Sikh community along with many other sections of religious educational institutions.

Suresh Jain Rituraj, who was holding a press conference to review minority welfare schemes, mentioned the work done by Yogi Government to benefit every community. As per the information given by Suresh, 7266 beneficiaries in the year 2020-2021 were provided the financial aid for their daughter’s marriage.

However, Yogi Government who is assumed to be a communal leader has always been actively working for the welfare of Madarsas in the state. Earlier this year, the Uttar Pradesh government had allocated ₹479 crore under the Madarsas modernisation scheme to improve education for the students. As of now, with the revised syllabus and amendments, he is aiming at better environment as well as quality education for the students in Madarsas.
