An English medium school named Delhi Public Global School in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district and affiliated to CBSE has found itself in controversy after an advertisement released by the school tried to promote Islam and in turn convert the students.
According to news reports, the advertisement stated “adoption of Islamic values in personal life” as the subject matter of the two-day- 3 hour each summer camp. It also carried pictures of Islamic places like Kaba and lists topics like- “what is Islam?”, “How to understand Quran” & “responsibility of a Muslim” for discussion during the camp.
After the advertisement came to light, several pro-Hindu groups like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and ABVP launched massive protests against the school’s propaganda for religious conversion. As a result, the school was forced to cancel the online summer camp which was to be held on the 3rd & 4th July.
“This type of religious education for kids coming from other faiths is targeted towards changing their mindset and convert them to Islam,” said ABVP’s Sachin Singh.
After being put on the spot, Mansoor Siddiqui, the school manager gave a meek reason and quite alluringly claimed that through Islamic teachings, the school was trying to impart nationalistic values.
“We had picked up the subject to draw in Muslim students for the summer camp and inculcate nationalistic values in them. We had no intention to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments or promote religious conversion” said Siddiqui.
Lately, it appears that the schools in Uttar Pradesh have become an easy target for the radical fundamentalist to try and convert the kids by infiltrating their innocuous minds. In one of the earlier reports, TFI had mentioned how Mohammad Umar Gautam, the lynchpin of the massive Islamic conversion racket, visited an English Medium school in Fatehpuri and forced teachers to convert the kids. When one of the teachers protested, Umar used his reach and power and got her expelled from the school.

Kalpana, the teacher remarked that in 2020, Umar Gautam visited the school with 20 to 25 Maulanas. Before that, he had already made acquaintance with the school authorities and laid the groundwork for his conversion activities. Kalpana stated that Umar used to force teachers to teach English and Arabic to the students.

The management at the Delhi Public Global School needs to be apprehended by the UP Police and questioned for the advertisement. It couldn’t possibly be the first time that the school had tried to pull off such an intricate conversion activity. Connections cannot be ruled out with Mohammad Umar and his Islamic Dawah Centre (IDC) which formed the epicentre of conversion racket across the country.
