Congress, once again, tried to disrupt the functioning of Parliament and fell into the pit the party itself had created. The opposition lacks the idea of how to protest and thus, ends up making a fool out of itself. Recently, the former Congress party president, Rahul Gandhi, drove a tractor to the Parliament to protest against the three farm laws and as a consequence, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala along with Youth Congress chief BV Srinivas and a number of party leaders were detained by the police outside Parliament.
The aged-old party, conveniently, has always been disrupting parliament proceedings. The opposition party, in order to protest against the alleged Pegasus spyware, farm laws and deaths due to unavailability of oxygen in the second COVID-19 wave, left the parliament proceedings paralysed several times. Once again, the party used the same tactic and drove a tractor to Parliament despite knowing that the session was ongoing in the Parliament.
Reportedly, Rahul Gandhi accompanied by his parliamentary colleagues, marched on tractors to the Parliament to protest against the centre’s three farm laws. Rahul Gandhi drove his tractor from Moti Lal Nehru Marg to one of the peripheral gates of the Parliament. As the area is under section 144 of CrPC and no gatherings are allowed, the police took the action against the leaders. A number of Congress leaders including Randeep Singh Surjewala, Deepender Singh Hooda and Srinivas BV, were detained outside the Parliament and taken to Mandir Marg Police Station.
A senior police officer informed the media that tractor entry was not allowed in the New Delhi area as per traffic rules. “They have ordered detailed investigation to find out how the tractor reached near Parliament when Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in the area near the Parliament,” said the officer further added.
The Delhi Police has termed the protest as a security breach and launched an internal inquiry into Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for driving a tractor to the Parliament along with other party MPs in protest against farm laws, as the senior police officers said. First Information Report (FIR) is likely to be registered in connection with the “tractor march to Parliament”, he added.

The opposition is all up with the tactics and is going round the clock to disrupt the parliamentary proceedings. During the start of the Monsoon Session, the opposition party did not even let PM Modi introduce his new ministers and made the mountain out of a molehill using Pegasus Scandal.

The Congress party, bereft of concrete facts, merely has any valid point to make and lacks enough knowledge to counter the ruling government. This, further, results in a failure during the debate sessions. Thus, out of frustration, the opposition party ends up running away from the discussions and has no choice left other than to disrupt the parliamentary proceedings. The Gandhis need to improve their knowledge on ongoing issues in the country and counter with factual details during the sessions rather than engaging in puppet shows on the streets.
