Farmers used casteist slurs at him and burnt him alive because he refused to support the protest. Then they tried to project it as as a suicide

After a 42-year old man named Mukesh from Jhajjar was burnt alive by the fake farmers at the protest site on the Tikri border, false news had been planted in the liberal media circles that he had set himself ablaze as a sign of protest against the farm laws. However, new media reports have stated that casteist slurs were hurled at him before the farmers set him on fire. In fact, Mukesh’s villagers claim that this was a conspiracy to make him appear a ‘martyr’ against the farm laws.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media platforms, Mukesh is clearly heard saying that it was the farmers at the Tikri border, specifically a man in a white kurta that set him on fire. The police officer asks him specifically if he set himself on fire or was it the farmers who set him ablaze. To this, he clearly says that it was the farmers.

Mukesh’s brother Madan Lal, who had filed the complaint with the SHO of Sector 6, alleged that his brother had gone to “roam” outside around 5 pm and reached the protest site. He stated, “I got to know that the four protesters sprinkled oil on my brother with the intention of killing him, and set him on fire.”

With the raucous bunch of paid protesters continuing to create chaos at the borders, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and apprised him about the “inappropriate incidents” emerging at the protest sites.

“There is no objection if the farmers’ movement goes on peacefully. But the inappropriate incidents, especially against women, are very worrying. These incidents are being opposed locally as well. Haryana government will not allow law and order to deteriorate under any circumstances. The Union Home Minister has also assured action in this regard,” said Khattar whilst talking to media after the meeting.

While Khattar did not elaborate on the incidents, he was certainly referring to the alleged gangrape of a 26-year-old woman from West Bengal, who was participating in the farmers’ protest at Tikri border, and was raped by a gang of protestors that included an AAP leader and later died of Covid-19 on April 30.

Enough evidence is available in the public domain which suggests that a sinister conspiracy was in play by the fake farmers who wanted to burn a seemingly innocuous man and later put the blame on the government. The police is probing the case but it is high time that the centre and the state government uses a sledgehammer approach to clear the protest site, six months after it began.
