Bengal rape survivors move Supreme Court as they narrate horror stories of rape by TMC goons after election results

Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal rape survivors, TMC, Supreme Court

The darling of the liberal media, who is earmarked to defeat Prime Minister Modi come 2024, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has allegedly given a free run to TMC’s goons as shocking tales of horror and unspeakable atrocities continue to trickle out of the state. As if the social boycott, attacks and murder of BJP supporters and workers weren’t enough, several women, who have been allegedly subjected to gang-rape by Mamata’s band of TMC hooligans, have approached the Supreme Court to seek relief and safeguard their lives.

Acting as a true-blue fascist with scant regards for democracy, liberal media and the Opposition’s darling, Mamata Banerjee is overseeing perhaps the most atrocious period in the history of independent India.

Buoyed by the Supreme Court’s decision to entertain the kins of two BJP workers who were allegedly murdered by TMC workers, several women have approached the apex court, narrating their horrific tales of being gang-raped by Mamata’s alleged goons as they seek an SIT probe into the incidents of violence and the supposed inaction of the state police.

A 60-year-old Grandmother narrated a particularly chilling account of what happened on the intervening night of May 4-5. The woman who lives in a village in Purba Medinipur, saw her house being barged into by a band of TMC workers who gang-raped her in front of her six-year-old grandson and subsequently proceeded to rob her house of all the valuables.

In her application before the Supreme Court, the 60-year-old woman claimed that a mob of 100-200 TMC workers surrounded her house on May 3 and threatened to do the most cliche thing present in the TMC’s playbook – bomb the hell out of her house. Perhaps Mamata’s goons were incensed that the BJP candidate won from the constituency of Khejuri.

The woman’s daughter-in-law left the house out of fear, which ultimately saved the daughter-in-law from an unspeakable atrocity. Expectedly, the TMC workers returned, barged into her house and assaulted the senior citizen, and then proceeded to tie her to a cot with the savages then gang-raping her in front of her minor grandson.

The woman was found in an unconscious state by neighbours was referred to a district hospital. Shockingly, when her son-in-law approached the police to lodge an FIR, the police simply refused to entertain the complaint.

In her application, she stated, “While the history is replete with gruesome instances where rape was employed as a strategy to terrorise the enemy civilian population and to demoralise enemy troops, but never have such cruel crimes been committed against a woman citizen for her or her family’s participation in the democratic process. Not merely the said crimes were facilitated by the inaction of the state authorities/police, but what was shocking is post crime humiliation that the rape survivors were subjected to, for their perceived audacity in reporting the crime.”

She added, “The perversity of the investigation as is being carried out by the local police can be inferred from the fact that while the rape was committed by five accused who were all named by the rape survivor, and when the rape is confirmed by a medical report, the police has deliberately chosen to name only one of the five accused in the FIR.”

However, the 60-year-old is not alone in her fight against unmitigated violence and atrocities allegedly carried out by TMC workers. A 17-year-old girl from the SC community also moved to the Supreme Court seeking a CBI/SIT investigation as she alleged that she was gang-raped by TMC workers on May 9. According to her application, the minor girl was not only left to die in a jungle after being gang-raped, but a local TMC leader Bahadur SK also visited her house the next day and threatened the family members against lodging a complaint and should they dare to file a complaint, TMC workers would burn their house and kill them.

Requesting an independent probe, she said, “Such has been the conduct of local police/administration that instead of sympathising with her and family members, the police is pressuring her family saying their other daughter may face the same consequences.”

If there is any truth in the coal scam and the TMC tax allegations, the top hierarchy of the TMC has made billions. Mamata would be well advised to throw some pennies at her impoverished savages who she refers to as TMC workers so that they can at least spare people from robbing of their valuables.
