The situation in Bengal is so bad that Bengali Hindus are migrating en masse to nearby Assam

The post-poll violence in West Bengal has birthed a humanitarian crisis in the state as hundreds of BJP workers, fearing for their lives, have migrated to the neighbouring state of Assam. Taking to Twitter, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that almost 300-400 Bengal BJP workers had crossed over to Dhubri in Assam to escape the brutality under the TMC regime.

According to Sarma, the BJP workers from Bengal are being provided with food and shelter in the meantime. The BJP leader also condemned CM Mamata Banerjee, telling her to “stop this ugly dance of democracy”.

“In a sad development 300-400 @BJP4Bengal karyakartas and family members have crossed over to Dhubri in Assam after confronted with brazen persecution & violence. We’re giving shelter & food. @MamataOfficial Didi must stop this ugly dance of demonocracy! Bengal deserves better.” tweeted Sarma.

Raising concerns over the rising violence in the state, several human rights bodies such as the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) have lashed out at Mamata Banerjee and sought an inquiry into the matter.

As reported by TFI, the chain of events started after the initial trends on the counting day (May 2) suggested a landslide TMC victory. Later in the day, a raucous TMC mob gathered around the BJP office in Hastings, Kolkata and later violence erupted in Arambagh where a BJP office was burnt to crisp.

The video of a BJP worker named Avijit Sarkar posted on his Facebook page, hours before being lynched had sent shudders across the state unit and workers. More recently, BJP MP Arjun Singh released a video on his Twitter account and asked the state leaders to resign if they cannot protect their own workers.

“Where are those who speak of secularism? Can they not see the atrocities being committed? I have told the party if we cannot protect our people, then what right do we have to remain elected representatives?” the MP was heard as saying.

It is not like the central machinery had not anticipated such an outcome after the results. The TMC supremo in public had threatened the non-TMC voters during the election trail. Reported previously by TFI, according to a Zee News Hindi report, during a rally in Nandigram, where Mamata lost the assembly polls — she shot out a warning to the BJP voters saying she will come after them when the centrally deployed forces return to their bases after the election.

“I keep knowledge of every inch of the elections. After the election, the security personnel sent by the central government will go back, but if our government is formed then the BJP supporters will plead with folded hands for the central security forces to be stationed for a few more days so that they (BJP supporters) could be saved,” Mamata Banerjee had remarked.

BJP national president JP Nadda landed in Bengal yesterday on a two-day visit and immediately went to the houses of the BJP workers who were allegedly attacked by miscreants and goons. The TMC government is trying to eliminate the BJP by indulging in a massacre and if the centre doesn’t step in now, the situation could snowball into something more catastrophic.
