Roorkee incident and more. If Demography is the future then it does not look very bright for Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand, Muslims, Love Jihad

In yet another horrifying case of Islamist fanatics killing innocent Hindu women indiscriminately for not accepting their marriage/love proposals, a 19-year-old girl of Uttarakhand’s Roorkee was brutally killed by Haider, Sariq and Riyan. The girl – Nidhi Paswan was alone at home around 1:30 pm on Saturday when the three murderers barged into her residence and cut her throat with a paper cutter. According to TOI, Haider, the main culprit, used to stalk Nidhi, who worked at a local beauty parlour and often passed derogatory remarks. After a manhunt was launched by Uttarakhand police, all three cold-blooded murderers have been arrested.

The killing of Nidhi Paswan is yet another spine-chilling murder under the Love Jihad campaign which Islamists are waging in India against Hindu, Sikh and Christian women. Uttarakhand has emerged, of late, as the hotspot of Islamists to execute their nefarious designs, which by the way, are a direct threat to the national security of India. Whether it be luring non-Muslim women into Islam by Love Jihad, or forceful and coercive conversions – Islamists are running a riot in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, and not many seem interested to address the gigantic issue at hand.

One case after another, in the past one year particularly, has been emerging out of Uttarakhand wherein women are being forced to convert to Islam by prying Islamist men seeking to increase their own kind in India. Of course, Islam is not the only religion, which is drawing attention in Uttarakhand. The likes of ‘Apostle’ Vinod Kumar are doing their bit to spread hatred among the people for Hinduism and then bringing them to the fold of Christianity. But that is beside the point. The more pressing issue here is the rampant and unfettered growth of Islam in Uttarakhand – mostly in inorganic and unnatural ways.

Parts of Uttarakhand, particularly in Udham Singh Nagar bordering Western Uttar Pradesh are expected to become Muslim-majority regions by 2061. Between 2001 and 2011, Uttarakhand has seen a rather astonishing rise in the share of the Muslim population from 11.9 per cent to 13.9 per cent, a growth of 2 percentage points. As a matter of fact, the rate of Muslim population growth in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar is double that of the average growth of population in the state. Between 2001 and 2011, the decadal rate of growth in the Muslim population was a staggering 33.40 per cent. In Dehradun – the state’s capital, the figure stood at 32.48 per cent. In Haridwar, the decadal rate of growth of Muslims was estimated to be around 33.16 per cent.

The effects of this brazen population rise of one particular community in Uttarakhand have come to become manifest in many forms. The most recent of which, of course, would be the murder of Nidhi Paswan in broad daylight. In 2018, TFI had reported how 60 Hindu families had left the village of Dhanpura in Uttarakhand since 1994 due to harassment and under pressure from the Muslim community. The remaining villagers back then had resorted to a hunger strike against harassment by the ‘minority’ community and had demanded immediate security from the government. There were barely 20 Hindu families left in the village in 2018.

The Muslim population growth rate in Uttarakhand is more than that of the Hindu population across most states. Uttarakhand, Kerala, and Haryana are among the larger states where the share of the Muslim population increased by more than 1 per cent. Assam recorded the highest change followed by Uttarakhand, which recorded a 2.03 per cent change.

Islamists are using three weapons to establish their hegemony in Uttarakhand – a land whose smallest particle too exudes Sanatana Dharma and where the soul of Hindu culture resides. Love Jihad, forced conversions and mass exoduses, apart from Islamists themselves giving rise to more of their own are all being used against the state’s Hindu population to drive them out of their own land. Demographic change against Hindus is being effectuated in Uttarakhand right under their nose. And if Hindus do not wake up now, the battle will only get tougher multiple years down the line.
