How eco-fascists and liberals went after Harish Salve after Supreme Court appointed him as the amicus curiae

Harish Salve, Amicus curiae, liberals

Harish Salve, the London based lawyer who has increasingly associated himself with the nationalist cause in the last few years, has become a target of eco-fascists, liberals, and anti-nationals. A few days ago, Supreme Court took suo moto cognizance and brought all the cases of oxygen supply, drug supply, and vaccine policy in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic under its ambit.

The apex court appointed Harish Salve as amicus curiae in the case, which left the left-liberal cabal rattled. As per  Wikipedia, an ‘amicus curiae’ is someone who is not a party to a case but assists a court by offering information, expertise, or insight that has a bearing on the issues in the case.

Dushyant Dave, former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and long-time associate for the causes of the left-liberal establishment, criticised the move to appoint Salve as amicus curiae and imputed motives of the CJI. “There is no reason why Mr Salve should again and again be appointed by Chief Justice Bobde as amicus curiae. Particularly because, Mr. Salve is not in India. He has been a non-resident and living in London for a long time. He does not know the realities of India,” said Dave.

However, Salve recused himself from the position, and said, “I don’t want the case to be heard under a shadow that I was appointed because of my school friendship with the CJI. I did not know our bar was divided between advocates who appear for industries and against it. I don’t want aspersions to be cast.”

However, before Salve could rescue himself, many left-liberals,  journalists and activists, who have been on the receiving side of his brilliance, used his appointment as amicus curiae as an opportunity to malign him.

Gargi Rawat, anchor and environment reporter for NDTV, argued that because Salve is in London, he cannot be appointed to the post (ignoring the fact that the judiciary has moved online).

Rana Ayyub too, blurted out in the open what hurt the liberal gang the most about Harish Salve – his attempt to restart the Sterlite Copper plant for supply of oxygen. “Of all the advocates, the Supreme Court decides to appoint Harish Salve as the amicus who is now advocating to re-open the Vedanta plant,” tweeted Ayyub with a thread from Gautam Bhatia who had also raised the Vedanta point.

Dilip Mandal, the infamous caste hatred driven journalist, brought the fact that CJI and Salve went to school together. “CJI Sharad Bobde and Harish Salve studied in the same St. Francis De’Sales High School, Nagpur. Same batch of 1972. Salve is no #amicus or Friend of the Court. He is Friend of Bobde. He will do what the Union Govt & Bobde want, and we know what they want! Hopeless,” he tweeted.

Harish Salve might have recused himself from the position of amicus curiae, but the left-liberals being rattled on his appointment shows how much they hate the person. In the last few years, Salve has fought in the court for people like Mukesh Ambani and Arnab Goswami. He has even represented the Union government in the case against the immigration of Rohingyas, and many other sensitive issues and emerged victorious in most of them. This is the reason why he has become a target of the left-liberal establishment.
