But now, the turmoil has been settled and the chair of Chief Minister has been handed over to Tirath Singh Rawat who has been sworn-in today.

The appointment of Tirath Singh Rawat as the new CM is due to his former glory earned when he was state president of BJP and won four mayor posts in the municipal corporation. When he was serving as a president of the BJP state, Uttarakhand was in the second position in terms of voting percentage throughout the nation.

Tirath Singh Rawat is a prominent leader in Uttarakhand politics. He hails from Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, so it’s quite evident he will sway the votes from Garhwal. He is currently serving as a Lok Sabha member from Pauri Loksabha seat, he defeated his rival from more than 3.5 lakhs and earlier, he has served as a Uttarakhand BJP party chief between 2013 and 2015. At the same time, his impeccable image can be a positive point for the party. Perhaps, this is the main reason behind his appointment as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
