In a recent development, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh announced the construction of Lord Ram University in Ayodhya. The announcement was made by the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Sharma, who said that the construction of Lord Ram university in Ayodhya will spread the values and teachings of Lord Ram, as well tell the students about the life and stories about him. The university will most likely be constructed through the Public-Private Collaboration model.

Sharma said, “Apart from this, a sports university, Ayush University and law university will also be set up in the state. A concrete action plan has been initiated and a 16-member task force has been formed by the government to establish UP as a centre of higher learning,”

“Through these steering committees, the direction of implementing the new National Education Policy-2020 is being taken forward,” Deputy Chief Minister added.

Religious gurus and saints too hailed the announcement of the Yogi government. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya, said that the proposed university will empower the new generation to practice the values of Lord Ram and know more about the Hindu Culture.

Since 2017, when Yogi Adityanath took power in Uttar Pradesh, he is relentlessly pushing the reforms, and new schemes to rejuvenate the Indic culture in Ayodhya. The Yogi government announced the Surajkund project, construction of the state-of-the-art airport, also known as ‘Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport’, a museum, an encyclopedia after the life of Lord Ram and now a university named after Lord Ram, where students can learn more about the Sanatan Dharma.

Extensively reported by TFI, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh and the Modi government at the centre, plan to restore the former glory of Ayodhya. In the Uttar Pradesh state budget of 2021-22, the city of Lord Ram received around 658 crores rupees for its development and beautification.

Apart from religious institutions, the state government is also pushing the development of state tourism with a budget of a whopping 100 crores in Ayodhya. The constructions of roads and other infrastructure also attracted 300 crores from the state coffers.

Since 2017, the Yogi Government has given a new life to the glorious city of Ayodhya. The beautification of Saryu ghats and the grand Diwali of 2019 were remarkable steps towards restoring the lost glory of Ayodhya. The successive CMs of Uttar Pradesh rarely visited Ayodhya. On the contrary, Yogi’s frequent visit and the special attention towards the city explain that he will not rest until Ayodhya reclaims its magnificence.
