Before the abrogation of Article 370, the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was deprived of development as it was held to ransom by the Abdullahs and Muftis who took turns in plundering the state as the region often used to get special assistance from the Union government due to its special status. However, the abrogation of Article 370 drastically changed the equations and now the Modi government is moving at a menacing speed to weed out the Islamist and corrupt parties starting with Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party.
The National Investigative Agency has been making some sensational disclosures as it has been revealing former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti and PDP’s terror links. Mufti’s foe-turned-ally, Farooq Abdullah is also under the scanner in the Land Jihad scandal borne out of the Roshni Act. The events of the past few months clearly indicate the Union government’s plan to unshackle the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from the throngs of PDP and NC with the parties allegedly having terror links and indulged in rampant corruption.

In fact, such is the predicament that Mehbooba Mufti finds herself in, the J&K Police has opposed giving a passport to the former chief minister citing an “adverse report” against her by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Mufti took to Twitter to slam the decision as she said, “GOI is trying to dismantle PDP by luring & threatening its members. Investigative agencies like ED are being used to intimidate me. To make matters worse, I’m being denied of my fundamental right to a passport. If this isn’t political vendetta then what is?”
A recent chargesheet by the National Investigative Agency has opened a can of worms for former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti and her PDP as the links of terror funding continue to emerge.
Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, who is a close aide of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, is in the dock after the NIA filed a chargesheet for allegedly funding Rs 10 lakh to Lashkar commander from Pakistan who, in turn, was involved in the killings of several of India’s brave hearts.
The NIA chargesheet also reveals Para’s role in the gun-running racket, funding terrorists and separatists with the aim of keeping the fire of secessionism stoked in the Valley.
According to the NIA chargesheet, Para gave Rs 10 lakh to Lashkar’s Kashmir chief of Pakistani origin, Abu Dujana, as financial support. The chargesheet also alleges that Para also provided logistic support to the dreaded Pakistani Lashkar terrorist, Naveed Jatt – the prime accused in the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari.
Waheed-u-Rehman Para, who was head of the state sports council, chose to use Rs 5 crore earmarked for sports activities to fund unrest by luring youngsters to stone-pelting in Kashmir Valley as he gave the amount to the Hurriyat (Geelani faction). The chargesheet claimed that the PDP leader had close ties with Pakistani origin terrorists stoking violence in the valley.
In fact, the chargesheet claims that Para used his official car to smuggle AK-47 for terror groups. The chargesheet stated, “He used to visit Kupwara area with his escort party and bring weapons in his vehicle as none of the security agents used to check vehicle en route being an important political entity.”
It seems that after the removal of Article 370, and detaining these instigators, the Modi government has finally decided to destroy them as they are a threat to security and democracy in the Union territory.
Political patronage to terrorists will be a thing of the past as these double-dealing parties and their supremos get exposed.
