Mamata has chosen a woke feminist who openly defiled Shiva Lingam to contest from the South Asansol constituency

TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee fielded Bengali actress Saayoni Ghosh for the South Asansol constituency of West Bengal. The actress once posted a picture of a woman putting a condom on a Shiva Lingam. It is a well-known fact that Shiva Lingam is considered to be one of the most pious forms of Lord Shiva, even though the actress displayed obscenity on her Twitter handle.

Recently, TMC released the names of the 219 candidates contesting the West Bengal elections. Out of which 50 candidates are women and 42 candidates belong to the Muslim community. Bharatiya Janata Party, the main opposition party in West Bengal, irked over-allocating a state assembly ticket to Ghosh.

Bengal BJP objected to the decision on its Twitter handle by saying, “Meet Sayoni Ghosh, Pishi’s candidate from Asansol South for the upcoming assembly elections. Sayoni was recently in a storm for posting a picture of a woman putting a condom on Shivling in utter disregard for the sentiments of the majority community!”

BJP also questioned the intention of Mamata Banerjee in its tweet, by asking her, “ Is this a ticket reward for it ?”

Already facing a crisis in her party after the mass exodus of TMC leaders like Suvendu Adhikari, Rajib Banerjee and others, Mamata Banerjee had promised in her election rallies that she will bring new faces in the upcoming elections to bring a new wave to the party. Sadly, by bringing candidates like Ghosh, TMC is allegedly trying to win the minority votes.

Asansol has had a history of riots, with the 2018 riot being the most recent one. Though the wounds of the riot have not been healed yet, Mamata Banerjee has rewarded a seat to a woke feminist like Ghosh, who had openly defiled Shiva Lingam. This move may very well fuel the tension between the communities.

Giving an assembly seat to Saayoni Ghosh who is well-known for spewing hatred against Hindus, perhaps seems to be the last trump card in the TMC cadre. TMC is worried about the splitting of Muslim and minority votes among the other opposition parties like Congress, AIMIM, ISF, and CPM. So, it’s quite suspected that TMC is trying to consolidate the minority votes. The party is fielding a candidate who is well-versed in Hindu hatred.

Whether this is a ‘trump card’ or the last resort for TMC to win the assembly elections, it lays bare the sad reality of the ruling party of West Bengal. Besides this, it appears that the ruling party wants to gain by continuing the rift between the people of West Bengal.
