Anti-farm law protestors aka the Khalistani protestors have resorted to threatening and using violence against the elected representatives of the country. BJP MLA from Abohar, Arun Narang, was attacked on Saturday by a group of Khalistani protestors who threw black ink at him and his car, tore the MLA’s clothes and stripped him naked in the public, all whilst the police looked on as a helpless passer-by.

The incident occurred near the town of Malout in Punjab’s Fazilka district. Narang had come to the town to hold a press conference against the state government but the gang of protestors masquerading as farmers had already gathered there waiting to unleash violence on the BJP leader.

When Narang arrived, the black ink was thrown on him. A few of the BJP supporters and the police ushered him inside a shop. However, when Narang came out of the shop after some time, the real assault began as the goons started tugging and pulling at him. In the melee that ensued, Narang’s clothes were stripped off and the BJP MLA had to walk out of the scene in a haphazard manner with the seemingly inept police officers trying to shield him.

Speaking about the incident, Narang said that today it was him, tomorrow it could be someone else and truth be told, his statements should be a haunting message to the establishment which has let this rot spread away for so long.
“I have a hunch that the state government could be behind it. It needs a thorough investigation. I don’t trust Punjab police now. I have undergone the medical examination; will take further action after consulting with my senior party leadership or whatever Modi ji will direct me. If the state government can’t protect an MLA, then one can better understand the present situation of law and order in the state. Those attacked me were not the genuine farmers, they seem to be motivated by someone. This is not a kisan aandolan, but goondaism. Today, it was me, tomorrow, it can be anyone else.” said Arun Narang.

“The beating up of an elected representative is a clear pointer towards it. Capt Amarinder Singh should take moral responsibility for the incident and step down or his government should be dismissed and President’s rule imposed in the state as it has not only failed in protecting the law but is also promoting anti-social elements,” said Ashwani Sharma.
The anti-farm protestors, who fundamentally are the Khalistan sympathisers, have already caused crores of loss to the exchequer. And now, they have started to come after the MLA’s in broad daylight with a hand-tied police force tip-toeing around and remaining silent observers. The confidence of the anti-establishment elements is sky-high in Amarinder’s Punjab, and if the trend continues, Punjab could soon become the dreaded anarchist state of the past.
