Soon after the Uttar Pradesh Police initiated action against serial propagandist Siddharth Varadarajan for shamelessly lying through his tweet regarding the death of a ‘farmer’ at Delhi’s ITO on January 26, the American citizen’s coterie across the world has begun threatening the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government and the police. And what was the threat comprised of? Well, liberals thought it fit to ‘internationalise’ the registry of an FIR against far-left pamphlet – The Wire’s founding editor. Further, UP government officials are also said to have been warned that any action against Siddharth Varadarajan will force to U.S. federal government, led by President Joe Biden to get involved.
And why is that? Because although Siddharth Varadarajan and his media outlet might operate out of India and constantly denigrate Indian culture and Hindus, the man is an American citizen himself. The infantilism of those who warned UP government officials with dire consequences, although funny, is indicative of just how deranged liberals can get. Varadarajan’s comrades sincerely believe that since he is an American citizen, the Biden administration would warn India, specifically UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over any misadventures.
And what are the misadventures, you may ask? In a tweet, Varadarajan had shared a report of the Wire, based entirely on lies, alleging that the ‘farmer’ who died at Delhi’s ITO due to his tractor overturning upon colliding with a police barricade had, in fact, passed away after succumbing to a bullet injury. Such blatant peddling of fake news was met with Varadarajan being slapped with an FIR by UP Police. The FIR, registered on the complaint of Rampur resident Sanju Turaiha, has been lodged under IPC sections 153B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) and 505(2) (statements creating or promoting enmity between classes.
The Wire went a step further in alleging that Hardeep Singh Dibdibiya, grandfather of Navreet Singh Dibdibiya, who died at ITO, said he was told by a doctor, from the panel of doctors which conducted the post-mortem that the youth had died due to a bullet injury. This was a claim made in sharp contrast to reality, and calling it fiction would be an understatement.
Yet, liberals have been outraged ever since, for how dare the Uttar Pradesh government and police take action against a serial fake news peddler who happens to be an American citizen? To the same effect, Aatish Taseer tagged US Vice President Kamala Harris in a tweet, calling upon her to not be friends with India.
Cc: @KamalaHarris An India that is not free can be no friend to the United States—as we learned with Pakistan and Turkey, enduring friendships are made of values. Not merely shared interests. https://t.co/vegQZZwzjo

Moreover, Barkha Dutt too showed her support to Varadarajan.
Coming to this late but this is an important and must read piece by @tunkuv on his brother @svaradarajan. And the larger issue of media freedom that should concern us all https://t.co/tgtZKkmyZ9

It is therefore evident that certain individuals are trying to involve the Biden administration in the U.S. to prevent the UP Police from taking any action against Siddharth Varadarajan. Yet, the Yogi government remains committed to ensuring that the propagandist is not allowed to go scot-free this time around.
So the liberals want no action against him? OK, deport him to US
Why not all states and central government pass laws banning any news media who peddle fake news? Same should be done to all social media, print, radio, online news portals.
