The much-required crackdown has begun on the controversial and anti-Hindu Amazon Prime web series ‘Tandav’ and it is none other than the Uttar Pradesh administration under CM Yogi Adityanath, which has taken the responsibility to bring the individuals responsible for churning such malicious content under the thumb. Shalabh Mani Tripathi, Information Consultant CMO UP, in a tweet on Monday morning said that serious cases had been registered against the entire team of Tandav, and they will be arrested soon.

An FIR was lodged against Ali Abbas Zafar and Gaurav Solanki, the director and writer of Tandav at Hazratganj police station late on Sunday night by Senior Sub-Inspector Amarnath Yadav. The FIR also includes the name of Amazon Prime’s India Head of Original Content Aparna Purohit, Producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra and another unnamed person.
The FIR on the cast and crew of Tandav reads:
“Those named have been booked for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, makes destruction, damage, or defilement of a place of worship or an object held sacred; forgery for purpose of harming reputation, statements conducing to public mischief, with intent to threaten the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India, or to strike terror in the people or any section of the people.”
“A police team from Hazratganj will leave for Mumbai to investigation and interrogate those named in the FIR on Monday morning,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police, central zone, Somen Barma.
The FIR states that at the 17th minute of the first episode of Tandav, it was found that the characters playing Hindu Gods and Goddesses were seen using abusive, derogatory language that is hurtful to the sentiments of a community.
“Similarly, in the 22nd minute of the same episode, efforts have been made to ignite caste clashes. The person holding a dignified post like that of prime minister has been shown in a very derogatory manner throughout the web series.” read the FIR against the cast and crew of Tandav further.
Reported previously by TFI, taking cognizance of the complaints filed, Amazon Prime officials were also summoned by the Information & Broadcasting ministry headed by Prakash Javadekar for questioning.

It was only after several BJP leaders and right-wing personalities on Twitter complained against the anti-Hindu series Tandav to the I&B ministry that the Amazon executives were summoned to explain their actions.

Dear @PrakashJavdekar,
OTT apps are creating 1 anti-Hindu series after another. #Tandav is the latest. We can uninstall OTT apps, boycott the shows but when will you take these guys to task? You are the I&B Minister. Do you even realize that?

Surprisingly, BSP supremo Mayawati also took offence to the content of the anti-Hindu web series Tandav and expressed her displeasure on Twitter.

TFI has already done a nuanced and neat dissection of what all is wrong with Tandav and how it goes out of its way to hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus. With such blatant propaganda thrown at the viewer’s face from the first episode of the series, the writing was on the wall and, finally, the hammer has been brought down.

From making rioters pay for the wanton destruction of public property to destroying illegal properties of notorious criminals and now coming after the creators of an inherently anti-Hindu web series like Tandav, the Yogi Adityanath administration has time and again shown that it has the spine to take tough calls when others would rather sit silently, and let the left establishment walk all over the Hindus.
