Singer and music director Vishal Dadlani has left the country in splits and has also contributed majorly towards people suffering bouts of laughter attacks, as the far-leftist took to claiming on no less than Indian Idol Season 12 that the legendary song “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo” was sung by Lata Mangeshkar for Jawaharlal Nehru in the year 1947. Dadlani is joined by Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya as judges in the 12th season of the popular show Indian Idol. That this misinformation was broadcast nationally is indeed a matter of shame, but made for much comical relief on Twitter.
‘Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo’ is a patriotic song written in Hindi by Kavi Pradeep, composed by C. Ramchandra, and sung by singer Lata Mangeshkar to commemorate Indian soldiers who died during the Sino-Indian War in 1962. It was first sung by the legendary artist on 26 January 1963 at the National Stadium in New Delhi. After Dadlani confidently claimed that the song was sung by Lata Mangeshkar for Jawaharlal Nehru, Twitterati took it upon themselves to make a mockery out of the music director and singer.
Hilarious tweets soon began doing the rounds on the platform, in which people were seen claiming bizarre facts and tweeting the same with a sense of confidence under the hashtag #DadlaniFacts. A defensive Dadlani, expectedly, took to cursing BJP supporters and right-wingers for making a clown out of him. “Aar BJP ke phukatiya 2-rupee trolls, yeh #DadlaniFacts trend karwa lo! If you can! Vishal Dadlani is a staunch and misinformed critic of the BJP government at the Centre, even while he continues sucking up to the Congress party on the basis of falsities. Much like all other liberals, Dadlani made a grand fool out of himself in his endeavour to show Nehru as some godly-figure who even Lata Mangeshkar sang praises of.
