Exposing the bigoted and misogynist mentality of NCP leaders, a video has gone viral on social media in which the President of NCP’s Nagpur City Minority Department can be seen indulging in hate speech against the Hindu Community. Using extremely gross and foul language, NCP leader Arbaaz Khan let out a stream of abuses against the Hindus, and women in particular.
In the video, Arbaaz Khan is threatening the Hindus and telling them to leave the country or face unspeakable consequences. Further, in despicable words, he said that Hindu women should be raped since they roam around naked.
Showing arrogance and belligerence, he announced his name, address and phone number and challenged the Hindus to come and get him.
This @NCPspeaks leader Arbaz Khan is not only threatening Hindus to leave India or get their morhers & sisters raped publically.
But he exposes how coward Hindu leaders are in NCP under@PawarSpeaks who appointed @AnilDeshmukhNCP as HM who is also from Nagpur.@AjitPawarSpeaks pic.twitter.com/pZi7jnJlyD

The Hindus meanwhile, have not taken to the video too kindly. They are filled with anger and outrage at the disgusting choice of his words. Further, the people are questioning the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, currently in power in Maharashtra, NCP being one of the alliance parties, whose leader is openly threatening and instigating rape against women.
Seeing the uproar, Arbaaz Khan has now offered a meek apology. Making an apology in another video, Khan is heard saying, “The video of mine that has gone viral, I apologise for it and it is a fairly old video. I have made a mistake, please forgive my mistake. All Hindus are my brothers, I fold my hands in apology because I have made a mistake. Please forgive my mistake. I won’t say such a thing ever again, I am so sorry.”

However, this feeble attempt of an apology is not enough for the people whose rights have been violated. Such actions of the NCP leader Arbaaz Khan have invoked several criminal laws in the nation.
For his hate speech, Arbaaz Khan is liable under Sections 153A and 295A of the Indian Penal Code. Further, his words insulting the modesty of a woman attracts punishment under Section 509 in the Indian Penal Code. For his video, Khan will also be liable under the Information Technology laws of India.
It is pertinent to note that Maharashtra’s Home Minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh also hails from Nagpur, the city where Arbaaz Khan hails from. However, no action has been taken by the Home Minister to maintain peace and tranquillity in his own hometown. Not only Deshmukh, but no leader from the NCP has also spoken against these vulgar comments and it is still unclear whether any action has been taken.
The assurance of not threatening women with rape is the least one expects from an elected leader. However, the NCP is unable to assure even that. It is also important to note that Shiv Sena, which has risen to popularity with its pro-Hindutva stance, is in alliance with NCP in the state. It remains to be seen whether they will take any action against Arbaaz Khan and his comments against women and Hinduism.
