‘India will break like Russia,’ Sanjay Raut issues a subtle threat in his rants against PM Modi

There is no limit to which Shiv Sena’s motormouth-in-chief Sanjay Raut can plummet and now seemingly Raut has crossed all lines of decency as he has now issued a separatist threat, in his rant against Prime Minister Modi in Shiv Sena’s propaganda outlet, Saamana.

In a claim that threatens to completely demolish Late Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy, Shiv Sena MP Raut has claimed that “India will break like USSR” in his editorial in Saamana.

Slamming Prime Minister Modi for destabilising governments, Raut claimed came up with a Balkanisation prediction that Indian states could break away like the erstwhile USSR.

Sanjay Raut claimed that Central forces were being used to destabilise non-BJP governments and were also being deprived of revenue which would eventually lead to India breaking up like the USSR. In the same breadth, Raut also lambasted the Supreme Court for “forgetting its duties.”

In his editorial, Raut wrote, “What if our Prime Minister is taking a special interest in destabilizing state governments? Mumbai metro was blocked for political arrogance. If the central government does not realize that we are harming people for political gains, then it will not take much time for India to break like the way USSR did.”

Make no mistake, this is nothing but a separatist threat. Shiv Sena has stooped to such a low that its sub-nationalism is taking a separatist turn. Raut’s comments are reminiscent of how the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto once claimed that Pakistan will inflict a thousand cuts to India.

It is a disastrous fall from grace for the Shiv Sena and the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray that people like Sanjay Raut are running the party and his comments must be unequivocally condemned by Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. Perhaps, Raut is under the influence of its alliance partner, INC, where a section of its leaders have not only parroted Pakistan’s agenda in the past (eg: 26/11 terror attacks was an RSS conspiracy) but have also shared distorted maps of India on social media on multiple occasions.

Unsurprisingly, the ruling alliance of Maha Vikas Aghadi are yet to condemn Raut’s comments. It is beyond foolish to have a motormouth in the form of Sanjay Raut to be the chief spokesperson of Shiv Sena and the party will dearly pay for this decision. Sacrificing ideology and sitting with former arch enemies to grab power is one thing, but issuing separatist threats is something which the electorate will never be able to forgive.
