Pakistan’s star campaigner against India in UK ends up being kicked out over sexual assault charges

Pakistan, Nazir Ahmed, UK, Imran Khan

On November 14, ‘Lord’ Nazir Ahmed of the UK Parliament’s upper house tendered his resignation, following the findings of a committee that the India-hating man had sexually assaulted a woman who was not in the right state of mind. The resignation by Nazir Ahmed came immediately after the findings of the report were disclosed to him, which also included having him expelled from the House of Lords for his criminally indecent behaviour. The 63-year-old politician, with links to Pakistani-occupied Kashmir, was behind several anti-India protests over the years. He was the first Muslim member of the House of Lords for life.

Ahmed had appealed to the Lords’ Conduct Committee against the findings of the independent House of Lords Commissioner for Standards, in which the ISI stooge was found to have breached the British parliamentary Code of Conduct. The nine-member Conduct Committee, chaired by Lord Jonathan Mance and four external members had subsequently dismissed Nazir’s appeal against the finding of breaches of the Code of Conduct and recommended the sanction of his expulsion from the House. The Commissioner had noted, “I find that Lord Ahmed exploited Ms Zaman (victim) emotionally and sexually even though he knew she was receiving treatment for anxiety and depression.”

The committee report, meanwhile, which has been published on the UK Parliament’s website too, said, “Lord Ahmed breached the Code of Conduct by failing to act on his personal honour in the discharge of his parliamentary activities by agreeing to use his position as a member of the House to help a member of the public but then; sexually assaulting the complainant, lying to the complainant about his intentions to help her with a complaint to the Metropolitan Police regarding exploitation by a faith healer, exploiting the complainant emotionally and sexually despite knowing she was vulnerable.”

Nazir Ahmed is purportedly a serial sexual assaulter, and Ms. Zaman is not the man’s first victim. In another case, a woman told BBC Newsnight that when she had reached out to Lord Ahmed for help, he allegedly suggested that she should spend the night at his London home. She thought of this as a proposition for sex, which she refused. In 2018, he was charged with serious allegations of sexual assault on a boy under the age of 11 from 1971 to 1974.

Nazir Ahmed is also an ISI stooge, who on more occasions than one can recount has organised anti-India protests in London. The man is also an avid supporter of the Khalistani movement. When Article 370 was scrapped, Ahmed said India was an “occupational force” in the erstwhile state of J&K, which wanted to pursue “demographic changes to settle BJP/RSS extremists.” After having projected himself as a messiah of human rights and liberty of the people of Kashmir, Nazir Ahmed being expelled from the House of Lords on grounds of sexual misconduct comes not just as a personal embarrassment for the man himself, but also as an international shaming of his country of loyalties – Pakistan.
