Sana Khan, ex-Bigg Boss contestant and Salman Khan’s co-star in the film Jai Ho has now called it quits from the entertainment industry, owing to her profound realisation that wealth, fame and success are not what the ultimate objectives of any person should be. Taking to Instagram, in a lengthy and quite philosophically descriptive post in Urdu, Hindi and English, Sana Khan explained why she has decided to quit the glitters of the entertainment industry once and for all. Apparently, Sana’s religion – Islam, and a drive to work towards the betterment of human society instead of chasing fame, contributed much to her decision of quitting the entertainment industry.
Calling the 8th of October, the most significant day of her life, Sana Khan wrote, “Is the real purpose of man’s coming into this world only to chase wealth and fame? Isn’t it a part of his/her duty to spend his/her life in the service of those who are needy and helpless? Shouldn’t a person think that he/she could die at any moment? And what will happen to him after he/she is no more? I have been searching for answers to these two questions for a long period of time, especially the second question as to what will happen to me after my death?”

According to Sana Khan, human life in the world is actually meant for the betterment of life after death. Invoking her ‘creator’, she declared that it would be better to follow the command of the creator than making wealth and fame her only goal in life. To the same effect, she then said, “Therefore, I declare that from today onwards, I have resolved to say goodbye to my Showbiz lifestyle forever and serve humanity and follow the orders of my Creator.”
Her decision to quit showbiz was followed by the former actor deleting all entertainment and glamour-related posts, virtually erasing all social memory of the industry and her ‘previous form’ from the Instagram profile which has over two million followers. Only religious posts can now be seen on Sana Khan’s Instagram feed. It is now as if she was never a part of the entertainment industry before.
Earlier, Zaira Wasim, who takes to passing social media sermons every now and then, had quit Bollywood and the entertainment industry in 2019, claiming that the fame and ‘success’ was driving her away from Islam. She claimed that the environment which she worked in constantly “interfered with her imaan”, and that her “relationship with religion” was being threatened too. It seems that Sana Khan has followed the footsteps of Zaira Wasim in letter and spirit.
