Yogi Adityanath’s no-nonsense approach when it comes to tackling criminals and their criminal empire is coming out in full glory. The CM who started the trend of charging rioters for the compensation in the wake of the destruction and loss they incurred to the exchequer has now taken this measure a notch above by coming down on high-profile gangsters and politicians.
Last week the Lucknow Development Authority demolished the property of gangster-turned-politician Mukthar Ansari in Dalibagh colony in the state capital and sent a stern warning to criminals around the state

The local administration in a statement said that an FIR will be filed soon in connection with the case. Besides, it said that since the building was illegal, expenses incurred in the demolition would be recovered from Ansari
“Gangster Mukhtar Ansari’s illegally owned property demolished near Dalibagh Colony. Expenses of demolition will be recovered from him. FIR will be registered. Responsibility of officials under whom this illegal construction took place will be fixed.” said the local administration after razing the illegal property.
Ansari, who is a BSP MLA from Mau was not even spared in his own constituency. On Saturday the Mau district administration pulled down the boundary wall of a godown constructed on panchayat land in the district.
The godown was constructed in the name of Mr Ansari’s wife and three other partners in village Raini and the land belonged to the panchayat.
The demolition drive further continued on Saturday when the Rampur Development Authority (RDA) issued orders to demolish the “illegally constructed luxurious resort ‘Humsafar’. The resort is owned by the Samajwadi Party leader and a Lok Sabha MP Azam Khan. The resort, situated on Jauhar University Road in Rampur district, is under the name of his wife.
“‘Humsafar’ resort and the site map were not approved by the RDA. A notice has been earlier sent to Tazeen Fatma (Rampur MLA) in 2019. But, she had filed a reply stating that the site map of the ‘Humsafar’ resort was approved by the Zila Panchayat. When a reply was sought from Zila Panchayat officials, they informed that the approval of the map in favour of Fatma’s resort had already been cancelled. So, a fresh notice has been sent to Fatma and if she fails to file an appropriate reply within 15 days, the resort will be demolished,” said JP Gupta, Rampur’s additional district magistrate.
After the notorious gangster, Vikas Dubey had chillingly killed 8-police officers, the UP administration had wasted no time in coming down heavily on Dubey’s property. The Kanpur district administration used bulldozers to demolish the house belonging to Vikas Dubey in the Bikru village.
The house was vacated, after which it was brought to the ground by a lone bulldozer. The luxury vehicles of the gangster were also destroyed, and the house is said to have included expensive furniture and electronic gadgets, all of which were destroyed during the demolition.
Yogi Adityanath and his government have shown a zero-tolerance policy against the criminals. Since assuming the chair of CM, Yogi Adityanath has been obstinate on culling the gangster-culture of the state, which had been allowed to fester unchecked for long by the previous regimes.
