The menace of Turkey and its deep-rooted hatred for India is being increasingly brought to light as Ankara is now looking to lure the innocent minds through lucrative scholarships, in an attempt to brainwash them.
Reported by TFI previously, Turkish outfits backed by Erdogan’s radical government in Ankara had been supporting and funding Islamist radical organizations in parts of the country including Kerala and Kashmir. The assessment report in New Delhi had noted the emergence of Turkey as “the hub of anti-India activities” next only to Pakistan.
However, according to Hindustan Times, a second such report has come in from New Delhi which states that Turkey’s infiltration in the country is far deeper than anticipated. The Recep Tayyip Erdoğan government is using NGOs and lucrative scholarships to lure youngsters to the dark side.
The report states that Turkey is taking a three-pronged approach which includes- using Turkish state media, educational institutes and NGOs to push its vile fundamentalist agenda in the country. In particular, the report listed those organisations that have started accelerating, what it described as “lucrative scholarships” to Indians to study in Turkey.
“Turkey has been providing lucrative scholarships and running exchange programmes for Indian Kashmiri and Muslim students to study in Turkey through state-sponsored NGOs. Once the students land in Turkey, they are approached and taken over by the Pakistan proxies operating there,” the report said.
Ghalib Guru, son of terrorist Afzal Guru was also given a medical scholarship by Turkey, precisely because of his connection to the terrorist organisation. This is one of the few examples of Turkey using scholarships to lure students. Afzal Guru is revered as a martyr by the Islamist fundamentalists and the Erdogan regime wanted the same for Ghalib.
Indian officials on previous occasions have iterated that the Turkish government has funded Kashmir’s hardline separatist leaders such as Syed Ali Shah Geelani for years. Separatists like Geelani live a lavish life in India but send his children to study abroad. His granddaughter Ruwa Shah has studied in Turkey through these scholarships and currently lives there. She routinely spews venom against India from there and was in the news in January earlier this year for organising anti-India shows.

Some of the notable NGOs mentioned in the list, that sponsor these scholarships include Turkey Youth Foundation (TUGVA), Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Turkish Airlines, YunnusEmre Institute (YEI), Turkey’s Diyanet Foundation (TDF) and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
Out of the aforementioned NGOs, TUGVA is led by Erdogan’s equally radicalized son Bilal. The NGO has strong links with the Islamic outfits like Student Islamic Organisation (SIO) and Jamaat-e-Islamic Organisation’s student wing.
Apart from Pakistan and China, Turkey was the only country on the whole planet to criticize India on the first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir. However, New Delhi was not surprised as Ankara lately has become more and more radicalized, courtesy its ruler Erdogan who thinks of himself as a Calipha who has the responsibility to usher the Muslim world into a bygone era—the Ottoman era.
It is also relevant to mention here that last year during the 74th United Nations General Assembly session, Erdogan had toed Pakistan’s line on Kashmir even as Imran Khan made all possible attempts to internationalize Modi government’s decision of abrogating Article 370.
During his speech, Erdogan had said, “Despite the resolutions adopted, Kashmir is still besieged and eight million people are stuck in Kashmir.” He had added, “For the Kashmiri people to look at a safe future together with their Pakistani and Indian neighbours, it is imperative to solve the problem through dialogue and on the basis of justice and equity, but not through collision.”
These remarks, obviously, did not go down well with India, and New Delhi had then retorted with soft diplomatic replies as PM Modi met the Armenia PM Nikol Pashinyan and Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades on the sidelines of the UNGA session.
Indian authorities now need to understand that Turkey and the ‘madman’ Erdogan has emerged as the most underrated enemy of India and his demonic dreams of establishing the glory of the barbaric Ottoman Empire is driving him to support and fund the radical elements in India. Now he has chosen the avenue of luring innocent students and brainwashing them to use against India.
The intel agencies in India now need to be vigilant of the threats of Turkey and the rise of extremist elements from its funding looms. Turkey has become Pakistan 2.0.
