Aamir Khan is once again at the centre of controversy and not surprisingly for all the bad reasons. The Bollywood actor is in Turkey to finish the shooting of his movie ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’-a copy of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. However, his visit to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s wife Emine Erdogan on India’s Independence Day has ignited a controversy that has drawn the ire of Indians from all quarters.

Aamir visited Emine and spent considerable time chatting with the first lady of Turkey. Emine even put out a Twitter post where she expressed her pleasure of meeting the actor.

“I had the great pleasure of meeting @aamir_khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. I was happy to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it!” she tweeted.

At a time when Turkey is increasingly becoming a radical and Islamist country and interfering more and more into India’s internal matters, Aamir’s visit raises serious eyebrows regarding his allegiances. India and Turkey are at loggerheads and New Delhi is distancing itself from the madman Erdogan but Aamir guided by his misplaced sense of belongings is siding with a leader which even the Arab world is distancing itself from.

Aamir is the same guy who feared living in India when the left-liberals and their figment of imagination–‘intolerance’, to paint the government in bad light was on full swing in the country. Aamir had even gone on to say that he and his wife feared for the lives of their children and were considering moving out of the country.

When India’s ally Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had visited India in 2018, a ‘Shalom Bollywood’ event was organized where the likes of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan had refused to come.

When the building of Sardar Sarvora Dam was being hampered in the name of ‘Narmada Bachao Aandolan’ by leftist NGO’s spearheaded by Medha Patkar, Aamir Khan had lent his support to the anti-national movement. During his protest, the actor had made several anti-government remarks and had later refused to apologize for his comments.

Turkey—India’s  most underrated enemy

Meanwhile, this meeting comes at the heels of two sensational reports from the Intelligence units which have iterated that Turkey has become one of India’s most underrated enemies.

Reported by TFI previously, Turkish outfits backed by Erdogan’s radical government in Ankara had been supporting and funding Islamist radical organizations in parts of the country including Kerala and Kashmir. The assessment report in New Delhi had noted the emergence of Turkey as “the hub of anti-India activities” next only to Pakistan.

Erdogan is funding religious seminars in India to radicalize Muslims. This includes taking them on a full-expense covered trip to Turkey for further indoctrination. “We are also aware of some people from this group traveling to Qatar to meet some people from Turkey to seek funding for their activities. That amounts as high as Rs 40 lakh is being offered to preach radical Islam in Kerala,” a government official was recently quoted as saying.

Apart from the funding, Ankara had been roping in several NGOs throughout the country to lure students to Turkey where the Pakistani proxies take them under their wings and radicalize them.

It has also been reported that fugitive televangelist Zakir Naik has been heavily funded by Turkey and it was the collusion of Erdogan and Mahathir Mohamad that Naik was able to evade the clutches of the Modi government for so long.

Erdogan’s mind-numbing rant against India and Kashmir in particular was the breaking point between the relations of two countries.

Last year during the 74th United Nations General Assembly session, Erdogan had toed Pakistan’s line on Kashmir even as Imran Khan made all possible attempts to internationalize Modi government’s decision of abrogating Article 370.

During his speech, Erdogan had said, “Despite the resolutions adopted, Kashmir is still besieged and eight million people are stuck in Kashmir.” He had added, “In order for the Kashmiri people to look at a safe future together with their Pakistani and Indian neighbours, it is imperative to solve the problem through dialogue and on the basis of justice and equity, but not through collision.”

Apart from Pakistan and China, Turkey was the only country on the whole planet to criticize India on the first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir. However, New Delhi was not surprised as Ankara lately has become more and more radicalized, courtesy its ruler Erdogan who thinks of himself as a Khalifa who has the responsibility to usher the Muslim world into a bygone era—the Ottoman era.

Aamir Khan has a penchant for allegedly indulging in anti-India activities and the closet Islamist in him cannot hide for longer spells of time. It routinely emerges and after getting some stick goes back to being its dormant self.

No matter how many ‘Satyamev Jayates‘ Aamir tries and host to paint himself as a good Samaritan and a ‘secular’, the truth is out there for everybody to comprehend that Aamir and his allegiances allegedly lie with anti-establishment powers. Turkey being a case on point.
