Indian mainstream media is less of a source for news and analysis and more of entertainment, and what’s even better, anchors and journalists feel no shame whatsoever in playing the roles of clowns on a daily basis. If anchors and their shenanigans were not enough, mainstream media now has a fresh recipe to serve to its audiences. In what comes a major breakthrough for the media industry in times of a pandemic, they have successfully discovered a multi-faceted specialist, who is the new sole authority on all topics that there can be. Geography, politics, civil services geopolitics, oceanography, cosmology, geology, meteorology, environmental science, et al. You name it, the media has an all-in-one expert for it all.
K Siddhartha is quite a new invention of the media. As a matter of fact, the expert graces almost all TV news channels with his presence, and sanctifies all lesser mortals with his supreme knowledge on a varied range of topics and issues. He also does not bother about ideologies, and is as comfortable imparting knowledge on Republic Bharat as he is on NDTV India.

While Dhruv Rathee is a major hit among braindead millennials and ever-adolescent Congress and AAP supporters, his sphere of influence, if it can be called so, is limited to social media alone. K Siddhartha, however, pervades on the nation’s high-pitched news waves and ‘influences’ people by the millions.
What serves as a testimony to the man’s wide-ranging knowledge, Siddhartha also has a website to his credit, which provides a befitting extollation of the man. According to the website, the man is a strategic thinker, geostrategist, knowledge and perception management consultant, thought leadership trainer, and advisor to several international and state governments. He is an earth scientist, educationist, mentor of 1,553 civil servants, film personalities, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and author of 43 books and 116 research articles. K Siddhartha has also mentored 1,553 students for IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS and other Civil Services. He has over 20 years of experience in mentoring for earth sciences, life sciences and personality development in India’s top Management Institutes, as claimed by his personal website.
Perhaps it is these claims which served as a cue for the mainstream media to go “Eureka, we found the expert!” over audiences. However, can we blame the ‘expert’ himself? As much as his personal claims of expertise over virtually all subjects are tormenting, it is the media which is not shying away from giving the man a platform. The media could very well invite other experts when discussing a particular topic, however, why spend money on fetching the experts when all that needs to be done during the discussion is a supreme slug fest in shouting?
The media of India considers the audience a bunch of fools, and that is beyond outrageous. That the media thinks it can get away by pulling off such stunts speaks volumes about their mindset, not to mention their inability to produce quality content. What’s worse, they feel no particular shame being caught red-handed while scamming Indians.
