We at TFI have always maintained that it is only a matter of time before Pakistan become a Chinese colony thanks to an incompetent Imran Khan government and the rapidly rising Chinese debt. In what can be read as one of the first manifestations of Chinese colonisation of Pakistan, Chinese companies in Pakistan have banned its Muslim employees from offering Namaz during office hours.

There’s a huge influx of Chinese companies and engineers in Pakistan thanks to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In a video that has now gone viral, a Pakistani cleric can be seen alleging that Chinese companies have forbidden Muslims to offer Namaz during office hours.

In the video, the Maulana can be heard saying, “Un Chinese ko bolo yeh unke baap ka mulk nahin hai (tell those Chinese this is not their country).” He added, “When some people gather and protest, they’d be scared. Then even their father will let you offer namaz. Today morning someone was asking that they’re afraid of losing their job and hence can’t protest against Chinese companies for stopping namaz. This is our country, not their daddy’s. When we go to their country, we follow the rules.” The Maulana also stressed that it is imperative to make Chinese follow the local laws.

Reports and videos have emerged that if any Muslim working in a Chinese company dares to offer Namaz, there will be serious repercussions as Chinese employers are beating the shit out of their employees if they dared to go against their rules.

No one would have batted an eyelid had these incidents been happening in China as the Xi Jinping government takes umpteen joy in systematically eliminating the Uighur Muslims as from forceful organ harvesting to massive detention camps, the Chinese Communist Party has done it all. The fact that the CCP model of dealing with Muslims is being implemented in Pakistan is a matter of grave concern and can be seen as an attempt of soft colonisation.

Recently, China was the subject of heavy backlash from the Islamic countries after the Chinese Communist Party banned “men with beards and women with Muslim headscarves” from using public transportation in Xinjiang. The local administration also prohibited people sporting the Islamic star and crescent from using public transport as well.

It seems that the first steps of colonisation of Pakistan have already been sown with the Imran Khan government powerless and gutless to challenge the CCP even on its own turf. Ironically, a section of Pakistanis were celebrating on Twitter amidst the border stand-off between India and China as the Pakistanis strongly backed China. Time and again it has been proven that China is no one’s friend which Pakistan has just realised.
