Communalism is a weapon assimilated by the fundamentalists in the garb of ‘Secularism’ that only appeases the minority of our nation whilst simultaneously pushing the majority Hindu’s to the fringes. In a blatant case of hypocrisy by some radical Muslim elements, reports have come in from Chavakkad in Kerala’s Thrissur district where Hindus were asked to stop chanting prayers through loudspeakers in Temples by Muslims because it was a Muslim majority area.
Swami Sadhu Krishananda Saraswathi, the General Secretary of Krishnanda Ashram has registered a written complaint to the Vadakkekad Police sub-inspector regarding the incident.
Muslims have asked a temple in Thrissur, Kerala to stop chanting prayers through loudspeakers because it is a Muslim majority area.

He wrote in the letter that two Muslims arrived at the temple a bike when Namajapa (chanting of prayers) was going on.
The two, who refused to identify themselves, warned the temple authorities to refrain from chanting the prayers as the area was a Muslim dominant one.
Not the first incident
Whilst the Hindus have grown accustomed to Muslims blaring loudspeakers in any locality they live in—this incident highlights that similar curtsy is not extended to the Hindus when Muslims are the majority in an area.
Three years ago, singer Sonu Nigam had spoken out against the usage of loudspeakers for Aazaan by Mosques in wee hours of the morning, hence disturbing the sleep of even those who weren’t interested in the call for prayers.
While Sonu Nigam also said the same for temples and Gurudwara’s, Islamic fundamentalists were particularly outraged, for how dare he raised his voice against them imposing their call for prayers, five times a day, by means of large loudspeakers.
While the incident happened three years back, recently, the radical Islamists started hounding him again for his tweets and started reporting it to the Dubai authorities, including the police while he was stuck in UAE because of the COVID-19 lockdown.
The Islamists in UAE have been particularly going hard at any non-Muslim in the country for speaking against Islam. Several reports have emerged in the last month where Hindus have been sacked from their jobs or nabbed by the authorities for criticizing some of the beliefs of Islam.
Rakesh B. Kitturmath, a team leader at Emrill Services, an integrated facilities management (FM) headquartered in Dubai, was terminated from his job because he made some comments about Muslims claiming to cure coronavirus by reading Namaz five-times a day on Tik Tok.
Onus not only on Hindus
The governments and the authorities need to understand that the onus of secularism cannot be on Hindus alone. The institutionalized minority appeasement and the demonization of Hindus for the vote-bank politics needs to be stopped, otherwise, the delicate social fabric of the country is in danger of tearing apart.
The articles 25-28 enshrines ‘freedom to practice one’s religion’ and therefore such miscreants who try to encroach upon it should be nabbed and punished so that an example is set.
